I don't know about futuristic per se, but to me this is the most amazing achievement on that list:

Yeah 2012 was a pretty awesome year for science. I think they should have included Felix Baumgartner. A man quite literally jumped from the stratosphere!

I'd be lying if I said all the cyborg stuff wasn't mind-blowing. But how does anything on that list top this?

Even if it's just in the concept stages, the fact that we're finally in a place where people in the government are sitting down and saying "alright, let's get this whole warp drive thing worked out" is really exciting.

Maybe it doesn't top because, even though it's very important, people don't think it will be possible because movies and TV shows, so a lot of people think it's impossible/fake.

I think that's one of the reasons.

I guess since they haven't really done anything concrete with it yet. I mean its really cool that they started an organization to actually start looking into warp drive, but not much has been done besides theorizing.

Such impressive feats and so little know about this, thats outrageous !

My favorite has to be the "White drive" ? Achieving travel with the speed of light or even surpassing it will open gates for mankind, no one can imagine the things that could evolve from this

Good luck Harold White and the team of scientists.

They were all awesome but when was this?

"4. The Earth Experiences its First True Superstorm"

    My favorite:
"2. NASA Starts to Work on a Faster-Than-Light Warp Drive"

Didn't even know that was possible yet.

Hurricane Sandy, which turned into a Superstorm after it weakened and collided with an arctic front and a jet stream, not to mention during a full moon.

    The Sandy one.

It was supposed to lose power as all other hurricanes once it went over land but because of some weird coincidences it gained power or something.
