I'll probably go for Yama no Susume myself. Tbh I mostly want to keep up with the fall stuff and finish that while finishing light novels that I never finished reading, mainly continuing on from SAO's 7th volume. I've been doing almost nothing for leisure but reading since my comp broke. Light novels feel awfully short now :s
*Still hoping that novels like SSY come out in English someday*
Also, even the monogatari series was a LN, all the best anime seem to be based off of LNs or VNs.
HAHAHAHAHAHA Hagure Yuusha special combined with Queen's Blade
WHAT THE FUCK! LOL
I've noticed this as well. Very few of my favorite series have manga as the source material, it's always VNs LNs or an original anime. Maybe they just work better in an anime format than manga does.
And I would love to read SSY. While I'm loving the series, part of me feels like there's just no way it's doing the original justice.
I suggest Eiken and Mars of Destruction.
I love me some shoujo-ai/yuri. If I had to pick a favorite genre, that would probably be it. Something about strictly female relationships in anime seem so much more sincere, sweet, and emotional than your conventional male/female ones.
For all you romance fans, I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't already. You might just love it like me. Some good ones are the aforementioned Candy Boy and Sasameki Koto (my two favorites so far), as well as Strawberry Panic and Aoi Hana.

Hmmm, that's really tough (All 3 of those are on my top 5 anime of all time lol). Either Candy Boy or Hanasaku Iroha. Candy Boy is really short though (like 7-9, 15 minute episodes), so you might as well watch it anyways. Sasameki Koto is amazing as well. You can't go wrong with any of them.
A note on Candy Boy. One of the sweetest, most adorable, and best relationships I've seen in an anime.
And yeah, Strawberry Panic is awesome lol.

I downloaded it from Baka and some group called Frostii subbed it. Never heard of them, but I didn't have any issues. It looks like there's a few other choices on the cat website, too.
