Is this a scam or banable?

Say I post an item from an alt for 7k gold and its really just worth 3k, and I say in trade WTB "THIS ITEM" for 10k gold!

And someone then buys the item off AH and I log off.

Is this banable or considererd scamming?

You would probably get away with that scam.

It's really difficult to bring it up to any policy, but personally I'd ban you.

I'm going to say no, and you should do it until those fools are broke. Someone is looking to make a quick buck off you and label you the idiot. Why should you be banned ?

I did it once, the guy who bought said he opened a ticket. I never got banned.

Not even remotely close to a scam.

Seems more like a scam to me but atleast from experience, My friend has done this once to try to get his gold back from when he switched servers and had to buy items to get under the Gold transfer limit, People said to check the AH since its cheap there or he got cussed out because It was very obvious

Item is worth so much a buyer can pay for it. Even if you sell level 1 white item for a gold cap.
There's no set price for anything (maybe except vendor mats like sands of time or this 18k orb thingy).

i got too agree with this. 1st one is a real scam. the other is kinda a jerk move but not a scam

Do not underrestimate the stupidity of people on high population servers.

If you have to ask, it's a bad idea.

Questionable whether it's against the TOS, but it's certainly unethical.

Who cares about ethics if you post from an alt in trade? Use a random lvl 72 alt maybe :P

Even in the first case, I doubt there's anything Blizzard will do. Nothing exchanged hands. It doesn't matter what was agreed upon.
