Laptop for Autocad 2012/2013 use

Hey guys!

I'm a technical drawer student, and this semester I'm gonna have to buy a laptop suitable for Autocad 2012/2013.
I'm no newbie when it comes to computer specs, but I'm not that familiar with laptops, also I'm not a millionaire, not looking for high end stuff.
Some help would be greatly appreciated guys!

Looking at http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/art...celeration-164 it seems like Nvidia cards are preferred if you are looking to do 3d stuff with Autocad.

I guess I'd need a maximum size of 15" screen, the higher resolution the better.
Brand doesn't matter, SSD would be nice but not something I have to have.
As for budget, I guess a maximum would be around $1200.

pretty good but gpu power is quite a few steps down so to speak but then again it would save you $200.

Used to use IBM ThinkPads out on sites/roving and beastly desktops in the office (mainly beastly for rendering).

Yeah, the only problem for me is, I live in Norway, and I've yet to find any place that sell the lenovo IdeaPad Y580 =/.
If not, I'd get that one for sure!

They do, but a part of the education requires us to travel around to different firms doing jobs for them as assignments, which requires every individual student to have his own personal workstation.
What baffles me though is that the school didn't provide any sort of computer-specs required or anything helpful...

i just had one problem when i was choseing laptop for myself. Im an construction engenner, i use tehnical drowing alot, and often have the need to carry lap top with me to different locationa. Its verry tiardsome to carry big lap tops (17 inches), beleve me. Thats why i recentrly got myelf HP core i7 laptop 15 inches, and a 24inches monitor, so when im at home, and i need to draw, i connect laptop to the monitor. Beleve me , in this case, Size does matter. Its way more confortable.
