Question Question about blood DK tanking

What do you think is better for using blood runes as tanking in 10man normals

    -Heart Strike

    Or

    -Blood boil?

BB if you need to refresh your diseases/aoe situation, HS otherwise. But the dps difference is pretty small, so you can use BB all the time, with the added bonus that it can't be parried.

Heart strike single target or < 3 mobs

Blood boil to refresh diseases if you have Roiling Blood or > 3 mobs

depends on the amount of targets...
1 target is Heart Strike unless
    - u need to refresh diseases
    - u got a proc (on i can't remember its name) and DnD is on CD

BB always refreshes diseases, Roiling Blood is to spread them...

Scarlet fever refreshes your diseases. Roiling Blood simply spreads them.

Thanks for the insight I just got back into WoW after taking a year long break after clearing DS, so all this MoP stuff is still pretty new to me

    its not that low tbh...

    On a generic comment:
and its very hard to say: below X targets use this and above X targets use that since the damage both do depend a lot on gear... HS is based on weapon damage and BB not...

The general idea is above 3 targets, you use BB to maximize aggro on all targets since HS only hits 3...
but it doesn't mean that HS cant do more dps only hitting 3 targets than BB hitting 4 targets...

I've all but taken Heart Strike off my hotbar running 10 man.

You should be using heart strike on 3 targets or fewer, provided attack power is below 100k.

You should be using blood boil on targets higher that 3, regardless of attack power.

You should be using blood boil regardless of targets if above 100k attack power.

Heart strike is outdated and makes no sense at all. Just make it hit ONE target and have some neat effect..I don't know.

I see boil mostly surpass it on even 2 targets, and HS can't hit stuff behind you, and the cleave can be very akward. I can have 3 mobs, infront, hitting me...HS hits 2!

If you are lazy: BB always.
If you are less lazy: HS on bosses, BB on trash and all procs.
If you do it right: Watch your Vengeance and know the coefficients, there are values of AP where BB is more efficient on 1/2/3 target(s) than HS, but I have no idea what they are, and the 1 target one is fairly high, like 100k+.

It's not that I'm lazy, I'm just running out of hotkeys that are comfortably available.

In order to use Heart Strike, I would have to set it up on a keybind that is awkward and to me, it just isn't worth it.

If I setup my key binds or create macros to consolidate a few things, I'll go back to using Heart Strike.
