Hello forum i'm turning to you again with a question about computer building. (i'm a realy fresh subject to pc-building so please vear with me, i just built my 1st pc 1 year ago, and didn't do much since then)
The initial build i was using was;
cpu: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition procesor, Six Core, 3.3 (3.7) GHz, Socket AM3, 7MB Cache, 125W,
motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 , AM3+
gpu: AMD Radeon HD 6870 Dirt3 Edition, 1 GB GDDR5, PCI-E
ram: Kingston HyperX DDR3 2x 4 GB 1600 MHz
ssd: 2,5" SSD Corsair F3 120GB SATA III
energy supply; energon 680watt (dunno the exact model, since im at uni writing this)
case; LC Power PRO-920BL Veritas
i was using the regular cpu-cooler shipped with the cpu, but last week i finally got pissed off at the noice everyone was telling me it did so i went and ordered a new cooler;
Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev.A
the building of it went preety smooth, but when i finished it and tried to get the case closed again i got an unpleasent surprise; the case can't be shut anymore, since the cooler is too big
now on to my questions;
- is it bad to keep the case open?
- should i buy a new case for my pc?
- if yes? which one would you advise me to buy?
another question arising; is it possible that my energy supply is now the noisiest part of the PC? and should i also go and replace it? asking this cause what i could find about energon by googing it wasn't realy good news.
