Op with regards to the case, rather than a phantom 820 have you considered a plain phantom (still full tower case, ~$160) or even the phantom 410 (mid tower, ~$130) as I gather you like the style of the phantom series. Doing so will give you some more coin to play with on performance parts and still have a case similar to the 820.

Thanks for everyone's reply. Well I got lucky and got the Phantom 820 for under the asking price way under. Can I get a new build probally i7 with 8GB of Ram and a Nice Mobo & PSU or even i5 with 8GB of Ram & a PSU without the Case, but a good Mobo for $750? I'd prefer a Corsair PSU & Corsair Ram if all possible. I don't need a CPU Cooler or anything like that.

A good motherboard can run from $100-$150. Any more than that is pretty much wasting money.

Still don't think you'll use an i7. It's not a performance gain for gaming.

There's tons of suggestions in this thread already. Has something changed?

You already have plenty of good suggestions for a build. SeaSonic is an excellent brand for PSU and actually provides parts for some Corsair units so unless you have shares in Corsair I'd stick with what's recommended, your choice of course. For gaming you'll see little to no benefit going to an i7 CPU.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
    Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($99.99 @ Newegg)
    Memory: Mushkin Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($44.98 @ NCIX US)
    Power Supply: SeaSonic 620W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($79.99 @ Amazon)
    Total: $414.95
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I do like your build only on one condition, I'd rather get a Mobo without Video & away from MSI is that possible? The reason why I said away from MSI I've extremely bad experience with MSI in general, rather get something from Gigabyte or Asus. Last time I've used an MSI was when AMD came out with K6-2 Processors.

There are plenty of other boards but... Saying "MSI is bad" and basing that off of something that happened 14 years ago is a bit silly.

You know who also made terrible motherboards back then?

Gigabyte and Asus. Funny that. They make good boards now, but Asus had a stupid high return/failure rate. I usually talked customers out of buying them, just because I know I'd see that board back in a week.

I'm not basing MSI from back 14 years ago, Asus has a department within 5 miles from me for RMA's, didn't say MSI is bad now but just saying rather stay away from them.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128546 pretty damm solid gigabyte board then
onboard video will only work if you have a chip to support it with, else it won't matter anyway.

There are no Z77 motherboards without a video-out as far as I know.

    These are all good motherboards:

Yep that is perfect. The reason for the MSI board (which is perfectly fine nowadays) was to me it was the best deal at the time considering price and features. Many other good options out there like the ones mentioned by N0c.

I picked up the Combo. Micro-Center only had http://www.microcenter.com/product/3...emory_Modules) which is 16GB I could have gone with Newegg but I would have to wait till next week to get it running. I picked up the Seasonic 620 PSU that was recommended from Amazon, that just came.

That sounds good, just hope you don't run in to any troubles with the heatsinks on the RAM.

this was the case where he had a H100(i) laying around? should be no issue in regards to heatsinks on ram if that is the case.
