    "Hard" doesn't have to mean "archaic". Losing XP on death has to be one the dumbest things any game has ever done. At least in Diablo 2, it wasn't significant until you were 90 or so. Having to cmpete with other people for gear drops falls under that too.

    I don't it will ever knock you down a level. At least it didn't in Cruel. Don't know about Merciless
