Problem is that the speed boost is most useful/desirable when you are getting 100% complete or unlocking WPs. Travel in the game isn't too bad once you have WPs unlocked.
The tedious slog to get WPs a second, third, fourth or eighteenth time is utterly painful. There is no real way to speed it up the fourth or seventh time either.
Pretty much need as many WPs unlocked as possible to actually play the game with friends too.
All these people pretty much covered everything so I'll tell u why I love gw2.
It caters to my casual lifestyle
U get rewarded for EVERYTHING
U don't get penalized for anything (ie: playing with friends at low lvls)
The community is awesome. A good majority are out to help one another
No monthly fee
Questing is super fun and does not feel like a grind at all. I hate questing in any other game.
U can pvp at max lvl with everything u need at lvl 2.
Dodging
I just love everything about this game!!!
Cons: the movement. U can't turn on a dime like for example in wow. Which is kind of annoying =\

I was playing GW2 once i cleared Heroic DS, got everything i needed(gearwise) and mount.
GW2, is a great game. The only reason i stopped playing was....didnt have the WOW end game content. Other than that, its a great game overall.
Once i reached maxxed level, I've completed my World Map to 100%, maxxed 2 more toons, did jumping puzzles and whatnot, tried WvW PVP(was cool but not for me since i dont like to PVP), there was nothing left for me to do, to my liking. Then MoP came out and went back to WoW.
IF, GW2 had PVE end game content, would definately leave WoW for it, in a heartbeat. My best experience i'd had in awhile. Great community and all the other stuff people have mentioned.

Yeah this game doesn't "handle" as responsively as some other MMOs like WoW and Tera but I've found that if you go into Options and turn your mouselook sensitivity up to max and then only mouseturn, then it feels a lot better. Keyboard turning is basically not at all viable.
My dislikes about the game are all entirely pertaining to to how tight-tuned the economy is.
You'll constantly feel like you're scraping your pennies together; or you'll have to consistently work the AH.
PvE feels very disjointed.
There's no real challenge to be had. It's honestly a very easy PvE experience. Fights take a long time because you're basically slamming damage into a meatwall while doing the same repetitive things for 5+ minutes.
There are very few bosses with challenging mechanics.
Also, the community is frustrating. The Developer Defense Force is obnoxious. GW2 has a lot of problems - but if you talk to a random handful of people who still play the game, you'll get the impression that the game's perfect.
I would say that it's because a large amount of the player base is European, and from experience Euros are, in broad strokes, the sorts to be apologetic for the shortcomings of people they perceive as above them.

Actually Arena.net did say the majority of their player base was European. I have heard Colin and Martin say this on occasion. Specifically with regard to Guild Wars 1 for the former.
My own GW1 guild was largely European based. But only a few of them were tolerant of GW2. Too much action gameplay, not enough strategy for that crowd.
I was referring to his comment about how Europeans are. He has no idea other than maybe the one person he has met. But I'm not going to get into a political and cultural discussion here.
I know. That's why I mentioned my GW1 guild. Which are mostly EU based and wouldn't qualify as "GW2 defense force".
Some people like the game, some don't. Meh.
Oh also,
No political rants. Forbidden topic/not interested in that bs.

Gw2 is a fine game. Everything fine was already said a hundred times, beautiful graphics, awesome world and places etc.
What i don't like, and what i dislike the most is the imo very unfun difficulty in PvE and by that i dont mean hard or easy, let me explain:
- Most fights between Level 1 and Maxlevel can be won easily by just standing there and letting autoattack happen.
- Those fights can be won without losing a lifepoint by running in circles correctly.
- The "hardest" fights i won were beating champions alone by running in circles for 15 minutes without making two mistakes in a row.
- The hardest fights i didn't win were those with undodgable fireballs that kill me within 30 seconds while dpsing the target would take more, like 10 minutes. No way ever to win that solo.
- Groups: too many people to have challange at release, trivializing everything. No more groups these days, or just small groups like two people making some fights faster and others still not beatable.
I like defensive characters. I always play tanks, strong-armored warriors, knights, paladins, stuff like that. In GW2, i dont have a class i really love. Most games have enduring and squishy characters. Gw2 has squishy characters, like defensive guardians. And more squishy characters, like defensive warriors and everythings else even more. I don't like that.
It feels like someone noticed "hey, most of our champions can be beaten by running in circles, that makes it too easy, doesnt it?" And some else replied "oh yeah, lets fix it by increasing all damage by 500% and reduce the times we give players to react to monster's abilities"
I may not have had the best dungeongroups yet, but doing dungeons felt completely like WoW with Tank and Healer dead, chaos and oneshots. So not fun and not what i hoped to get after everything that was announced about guild wars 2 before its release.
My brother told me "get a guild, use teamspeak. It works fine when you coordinate and learn to play together." Seriously? I hate teamspeak. I dislike making appointments about playing together with guildmembers and i dislike planning my day around a computer game. I know that i will never see the biggest boss at the time of release, i will never get the best loot, the honor whatever. I don't even care, i just wanna play stuff, doesnt matter if it considered "easy" and "casual" to real gamers. Maybe 10 years ago i would have done it different but not now. When GW2 was announced with "no raids! just 5 man content!" and "not your average demand-your-life-mmo" i thought heyyyy i can bring all my friends along. Well every one of them bought GW2, two out of five are still playing (including me, the other one is level 25), the others are deterred by the action game with little rpg inside. RPGs are about developing the character, GW2 is "look closely at the animation and double-tab to dodge within 0.5 sec".

in Anets defense tho:
it's the same in more if not all MMO's.
WoW dungeons difficult? No ...
WoW heroic raids difficult? well to some extent yes...
1) React within 0.5s to dodge that fireball or your toast.
2) Get yourself geared up
3) follow the dance script
GW2 dungeons difficult? Trash can one-shot you ... and bosses are boring and take 15min of doing the same thing -_-
GW2 dungeons High level champions difficult: To some extent yes ...
1) React within 0.5s to dodge the incomming attack or your dead.
2) No gear to save your ass if your playing bad. Making you rely solely on skill/reaction time. (gathering better gear can be seen as kinda RPG'ish) This is often seen as lack of challange.
3) follow the dance .... if there is one .... most bosses are tank spank with an occasional dodge. FoTM improved it .. a little..
My biggest gripe with the game is about 3.
The fights last too damn long!!! and lack any form of puzzle element like we know from WoW. This is mostly due to CC being almost non existend limiting Anet in encounter design. Anet could make really challanging fights if they tried tho but they need to put their back into it.
ps. i love gw2
The lack of engaging/complcated encounter design is due to anet inexperince and the lack of trinity imo, not the lack of CC in game.
