    Choosing a headset

So i want to buy a new headset and after reading the reviews here i was settled on the corsair vengeance 1500 which i planned to order off amazon

but then i noticed 2 headsets in stores here in Egypt so i am wondering if there is any grounds to choose those over the 1500 ?

    the 2 mentioned are
    ASUS ROG Orion Pro
    Cooler Master CM Storm Sirus

The purpose is to have a decent headset (really dk much about them ) with in the range of 1500 budget which was woot 70ish pounds on amazon uk(with shiping for meh ) , if it is 1 of the 3 mentioned or a completely different one makes no difference just looking for best performance for the money

the usage for the headset , mostly during long hours of gaming (wow/bf3) ,
i also dont own a dedicated sound card , since that adds to the choice i think ?

thanks for the help in advance .

got a 1500 myself and im finding it a very solid all round headset.
not having a dedicated sound card only makes it an easier choice to get a headset with a usb since those have an inbuild soundcard that is usually slightly better compared to onboard sound. (unless you got a very new motherboard then it is on par likely)
i have not seen/heard much about the other two headset.

Just read and make your own conclusions

P.S: This is not an Anti-Hate-OMG-Corsair-sucks post, it's just public service pointing people to hardware problems before them buy them.

That's a risk you have with basicly every USB headset though (and headsets connected to onboard sound in general), it's not the headset itself that generates a hissing sound, it's the static coming from your motherboard that "seeps" trough.
It *could* be that this headset is more suspectable to it, but i doubt it, static seeping trough speakers/headsets has been an issue ever since they introduced onboard audio, and now with USB headsets.

Every single time i've had an issue like that it always went away by plugging it into a dedicated soundcard (even my cheap Asus DG got rid of the static), obviously soundcards have no USB plug tho.

-shroudster- Yea i read pretty much alot of posts saying the corsair 1500 is a good headset and all that lovely stuff , what made me get confused or look into other options is the 2 headsets that appeared in the market (just noticed them, and i was like "it is always better to buy off the market than to order off amazon if there is decent options" ) so i kept looking around if they are better than the corsair or not , but didnt get to a deciding review there , so figured i ask , the motherboard i got atm is an Asrock z77 extreme 4 .

-r0cki- thanks for pointing out that problem in corsair , do you have an experience with a diff specific headset that you would recommend for me ?

Sorry, i can't really help much besides warning you (and other people) of the Vengeance 1500's problem. I had a pair of Senheisser's 150 that lasted me for 6+ years. I bought a pair of Asus Orion (NOT the pro version, i got "scared" of the 1500's problem and i tried to avoid USB headsets). So far so good, they're pretty comfortable (they're far from being broken in, and they barely hurt my ears, and i even use glasses!). The cups are made of some sort of leather'ish material that gets kind of humid if you sweat from your ears (i know it sounds strange but on the first week or so i "had" this issue :P). The only downside (IMO) is that they're all made of cheap plastic...

Storm Sirus is good, however I really felt it was not comfortable for my head.
But as said, that was for my head.

ASUS ROG is a nice one though!
