I don't know, in some ways the fact that we're able to feel a full range of emotions, having good times, frequently or rarely, to bring us to the top of the world and bad times, to crash us back down, is one of the things that makes life so special. The shear number of experiences we can have, how little control we have over them, and how little time we have to have them is what keeps life from getting boring and stale.
