You cant do current raid tiers crossrealm, but you can do all the other things crossrealm

Not without clever exploits like ppl did to get into Terrace in the last tier. They have fixed a few of them and if you get caught doing the others they start locking accounts.

I'll give you a hint. The answer rhymes with honey.
Last they wanna do is piss off pve guilds even more, more pve'rs quitting the game then ever so, less subscription less money. Goes both ways.

Go to wowprogress, look at the amount of actively progressing guilds, compare to previous tiers, voila.

According to WoWProgress, basing off the first boss
    T12 Shannox Normal: 65516
    T13 Morchok Normal: 62648
    T14 Stone Guards Normal: 44941
    T15 Jin'rokh: 23819 (so far)

And even basing it off the last boss of each tier (normal)
    T12 Ragnaros Normal: 46581
T13 Madness of Deathwing Normal: 52913
T14 Sha of Fear Normal: 21641
T15 Lei Shen Normal: 4784 (so far)

It is pretty easy to spot the trend, numbers have been going down since T12 at the very least.

just because this tier is a mechanics/brain check and not a dps check and more guilds are hitting the wall does not mean there are less guilds progressing...the progress is slower but it's not non-existent. ToT is one of the best instances in WoW next to Ulduar and BT (at least BT was cool and Uld was pretty)

    Three reasons:
    1) realm Transfers = $
    2) Encourage guilds
    3) Prevent sale of raid clears for non-ingame currency

Just because ToT is one of the best instances doesn't mean more people will suddenly do more pve. Jinkroh still is pretty much free loot and I don't think it will hit 60K before the end of the tier.

Beyond the obvious wanting you to pay to server transfer, I think it also has to do with how they would handle server firsts; if you could do the current raid cross-realm what would stop the top 2-3 guilds from pooling their best members together to get a world/region first kill? Rift recently had a problem where like the #2 guild or something (No Quarter) got bitter at not getting world first or something like that and used the cross-realm grouping there to put a single member with a placeholder guild on a few other servers and "steal" their server first kills because the cross-realm grouping counted the person on each realm as the "first" guild. It caused a bit of an uproar, the guild was mostly banned for it, and then quit the game.

It's also the issue of why bother joining a raiding guild if you can just cross-realm group with a guild? I personally don't mind it, as you can LFR with your friends if they're on other servers, and the prior tier can still serve as a training grounds for guilds looking for recruits. I guess it would only really suck at the start of an expansion.

Didn't it go cross-realm with the 5.3 patch?
