seems like an interesting idea, and it certainly helps with the entire int plate being for only one spec thing.

Can they have a CD that turns their target undead for X seconds and lets Death Coil actually heal instead of absorb?

True, but what if they went made it so it had a limit like some other AOE healing spells such as Tranq used by druids? or some other method of limiting it so that they wouldn't be to OP?

    Three flaws imo.

Healer with infinite ressource : won't happen

Melee healer : won't happend. Blizzard tried with fistweawing it can't work. Just like attonment you have either a OP healer who heal as much than opther AND do dps (so why take a simple healer who just heal ?) or you have some strange half heal/half dps spec wich can be nice (especially in 10 when 3 healer is too much and 2 a little light) but can't be the only focus of a spec (so you'll need a viable "DK ranged healer" gameplay option).

Too much ressource : rune + runic power + dark energy, a triple ressource spec will never happen. It's pointless, if you need a third ressource in your design maybe the first two aren't that good in the first place.

So voted no. Would rather see a mage (water spec) or a hunter ("real" survival spec) healers than a DK.

I think i could enjoy a 4th spec for all classes. The ones we have now are abit stale. Tho as im a druid we have 4 specs, Would we get a 5th? as cat / bear was ONE spec before or does druid get left out or would we just get some new spells?

Sounds like an interesting way to heal. Though how would you keep them from being stacked in raid groups because they're incapable of going OOM?

  7. #87
I'd rather have them introduce necromancers than give another spec to dks, tbh

    No way.

DK's are not folk who throw nice heal here, and nice heal there. They destroy their foes to feed their eternal hunger to cause pain and suffering.

    Thanks for killing my dream

On paper, this seems like a good, interesting idea. However, the game already has too many healing specs, and Blizzard already is failing at balancing them while keeping them different enough. I would also skip the absorbs part, as absorbs are already a painful and frustrating issue among the healing community members (which is why disc priests and holy paladins are getting represented more than the other specs).

The Necro Grip idea sounds great though, and a 10min cd sounds about right.

Cool concept, but I cant picture a DK healer, you know, being undead and all that.

I'd do it~! In an instant, really. I love my healers.

  14. #94
Nope. I have no interest in healing in general though, I prefer to be focused on making things die directly, rather than keeping other people alive so they can make things die. Even tanks still get to hit and bash things and do fairly considerable damage. Only healer that I'd consider would be something like an Atonement priest who still heals/shields but can also do some reasonable DPS.

We can have undead monks and priests already...

  15. #95
    Monks heal with Chi.
    Priests heal with The Light.
    Death Knights heal with Death.

One of these things is not like the others.

Currently playing Borderlands 1 remaster. Amped for Borderlands 3.

Refer to this post. It doesn't make much sense, monks and priests as undead are simply for gameplay reasons.

I don't think it would work out as all healers now have mana, which the DK doesn't have... and how would Spirit affect DKs?
just as monks have energy, but they get a mana pool when in healing spec

I most definitely like the idea of a DK healer. I am not however a fan of making it a melee healer. Having played almost all healing classes, I prefer healing at range. Also as a mdps, I do not like the idea of a healer gripping me to their location. Necrotic Grip could easily be a Necrotic Heal/Tendrils/etc, another raid CD that heals the raid for 20% HP at the cost of 50% of the DK's life. So for this ability maybe a glyph could work to give the DK an option.
