5.4 Release date?

Hi there!

So I was wondering if anyone has heard when roughly patch 5.4 will be released? I know that we never get a real date, but I thought I heard recently that it would be in 4 months time, but it seems that the PTR is progressing faster than that. Is it true that it is still scheduled to be released in 4 months time or so from now?

It was just released on PTR. There is tons of balancing and trial and error on Blizzard's side that needs to be done. 4 months is a reasonable estimate.

Really? Two months is a reasonable time frame to test a new raid with multiple difficulties and a range of new features including Virtual Realms? I'd hate to work for you.

Release day of 5.3 + 2.5 months = 31st of July

takes about 3 weeks tops to do raid testing....features they normally hotfix or patch any major issues on live

so 1 1/2 months is reasonable

Keep in mind they have a bunch of developers pulled from titan working on WoW now. I'm not saying they are working on the patch but they could pump it out pretty quickly now if they wanted. 2 Months IMO

I'm banking on late August/early September, which would be 3-4 months from 5.3 release.

Lets think
Just release to PTR
No major updates to PTR (that alone is 6 weeks)
Raid testing (that is usually 2 weeks, but since this is the book finally I am guessing 4 weeks)
Than about 2 weeks of clean up (again since this is the big one more like 3 weeks)
6+4+3= 13 so we will say Sept 12, 17, 24

5.3 didn't add anything big, Blizzard wants to keep people playing so they will make sure that it's out fast. I even raid somewhere on a interview i think that 5.3 won't last that long.

They might make a aniversery of the MoP release and do 25th of september.
But they have been throwing out content so fast this xpack, so it might be the aniversery of 5.0 so 28th of August also is reasonable.
