Golden Age of raiding god I hope your just stating your opinion and not saying to say that is a fact because ill really LOL really hard.

Before I left wow I only did LFR because I was tired of the guild drama and normally being the one who had to run the raid even tho I stated many times I did not want to.

In LFR you can Ignore all the people in a guild run or even a pug run you can not ignore the other 9/24 people and that to me is a blessing.

Also believe it or not LFR is fun for a lot of people.

Also one reason I stopped trying to join raiding guilds was because they wanted me to go to there guild website and full out a apt....this is not a job this is a game.

Nobody said it was gonna be easy to do, but you gotta be prepared to work for it yourself.
Though if you're happy with doing watered down bosses that is LFR, it's fine.

On a sidenote I think it's great that blizz does so much for casuals nowadays compared to when I started back in TBC, wish I had the opportunity to raid LFR. Excited to see how the FlexRaid works out.

It's much less stressful to jump into LFR than it is to work out social disfunction over the internet, with people you barely know, just for the sake of playing a video game at a higher difficulty.

It's not a matter of being unfeasible to solve, it's just not worth it for most people.
I guess you're right. I've been in a guild for 1½ years now with focuses highly on the social aspect of the game. And if there's a problem inbetween players, we talk about it, instead of letting it dwell for weeks and let it explode into one big discussion.

Could be that I am not used to players behaving bad towards other people in-game.

Schedule, i can do lfr any time i want, for me wow is a game, most of the raiding guilds thinks wow is a job or at least they act as it is. Lfr sometimes is bad, but usually i queue with 2 or 3 friends and we have fun. But for me the most important reason for run lfr is schedule, the GAME adjust to my needs and play time, and i don't have to adapt my life to the schedule of a raiding guild.

Not many people have the same experience, unfortunately. I was in a very friendly and successful progression guild... until one of the officers cheated on her husband (another officer), with the guild leader. A little too friendly, I suppose. Haven't really been able to find anything worthwhile since. Hard to find a middle ground between a light-hearted group, and a progression oriented group.

It's a great atmosphere and experience if you're lucky. Stressful and life-sucking if you aren't.

becous i dont have the time to put in to a raiding guild seens all the guilds req that you be there everyweek due to my work i can only be there everyouther week. Noone wants to have ppl that cant attend more then 70%ish and noone wanna play in a guild that plays 4-5 days 1 week then have a week off raiding same amout of time in the raids everyweek as a guild that raids 2-3 days every week. so for me if i want to raid i need to pug or do lfr and lfr is less of a pain the pugging most of the times but thats only my opinio. but when flex raid comes on i will get a group/guild together just for fun and raid

I basically took the constant bitching excuses of the Anti-lfr people and twisted its point of view in a very subtle way so that people would stop asking why we should have LFR so we can change the subject to the real problem, a problem that these anti-casual people are not asking themselves. Why would people put up with the potential crap of LFR instead of joining their mind blowingly great raid guild social structure.

Nobody is asking this question because they prefer to be blind to the truth, that there is something seriously wrong with our raiding community if some one would choose to accept that bad things that happen in LFR rather than joining the raiding community.

    Subtlety wins!

Yep, because you can plan ahead so you dont get hit by a car or whatever on a raid day

I do agree a little Some choice LFR because of shitty guilds

Others chose LFR because of it being fun to them or whatever reason they have. If guilds are really pushing people into LFR then yes there is something wrong in the raiding community but do remember not everyone is being pushed into it this way some do like LFR.

I would also suggest that those who don't know what's wrong with the raiding community because it is working just fine may be what's wrong with the raiding community.

If raid groups are falling apart its not because of LFR because as you can see LFR has its own problems caused by terrible people but yet it's still a better alternative to that raiding group that fell apart.

Most anti-LFR arguments are usually laughably bad due to extreme use of hyperbole to the point that it resembles fiction more than fact, and this is simply yet another one used in an attempt to demonize LFR and those that are quite content to exclusively run it.

Judging by posts in this thread many ppl aren't joining raiding guilds because they had bad experience in previous one.

What? In what context does that make sense?

I am in a cohesive, social guild, one of the oldest in the world. Been there since starting. We have gone from raiding full tiime to once a week currently, and we dont mind. Our roster varies from horrible to hardcore players, and we span ages twelve to sixty. We clear everything on normal still, though sometimes a bit late. We like lfr as an extra because it allows some of us to grow whilst others struggle. We have varyng schedules.

And we like it this way. We are friends, who dont want drama.

the convenience factor is the biggest thing for me

i'd never leave my guild and i hope one day we'll all raid together again, but it'd take a miracle - as such i settle for lfr and will most likely do some flexi-raids with whatever people do log on and pug the rest.

lfr broke my raid commitment schedule, it broke it for a lot of people in my guild and whilst it is definitely inferior to guild raiding, the convenience factor makes it very appealing. flexi-raids, unfortunately came an expansion too late for my guild.

I havent left anything for LFR. I havent been able to run normal modes since the first tier of cata because of a hectic work schedule. I am still a part of the same raiding guild I have always been, but I am no longer a core member due to this. I still raid with them when I am on during raiding hours and fill in for someone who may be missing. LFR helps me to fill in the holes here and there and help get my alts into the action as well. That is all.

So to sum up, why do I run LFR?

    - My schedule is all over the place and makes scheduled raiding difficult.
    - Nice, easy place to gear up alts

    That is basically it.

That is part of my reason. Last guild I was in I told them from the start I do not want to raid lead I just want to join and play take a wild guess what I had to do to try to get anything done.

I can know fights like the back of my hand but I never been that good at explaining them and that was one of the reasons I did not want to raid lead. But yet I kept getting forced into doing it and it got to the point where I just could not be asked anymore.

Those are not my only reasons but they are up there in my top reasons.

    Exactly this.

If I could raid, I'll only do heroics because normal is so easy it enrage me when dumb players do some retarded shit over and over and over (a few time I helped ancient guildies who still raid, randomly tanked Horridon, Tortos, Durumu, Jikun and dpsed a few too).

But I can't manage the heroics guild schedules (why isn't their some 1-2 nights week heroic raiders ????). So I only do LFR with some friends when they are online. We may do flex next tier, actually hoping that flex is something good (sadly I hope that it is NOT too hard, so any pugs can fill our base group. Don't want to take 1+ hour to check if everyone has enough ilvl, perfect gems or strat knowledge)

I can understand the people with schedule issues, but for those of you that refuse to join a raiding guild for drama or applications or because you're not guaranteed a spot.... I'm sorry. Your last guild must have been horrible, because as far as I know, stuff like that rarely happens, at least in reference to getting benched or losing your spot for no reason.

Why do you choose LFR over Raid Guilds?

Because 90% of my guild quit the game after being in MOP beta and saying they would rather shave their eyebrows off than continue playing. Not seem them since MOP release. Very damaging expansion for my guild, which is the oldest guild on my realm. I lasted about 6 weeks then was bored out of my mind.
