Blizzard Trademarks "The Dark Below" - WoW or D3 Expansion?

In Warcraft I, and to a lesser extent Warcraft II & Warcraft III, and in the novels, Day of the Dragon specifically, the terms "hell", "hells", "Hades", "lower planes", "the underworld", "damnation",, "pit of darkness" and "Dark Below" are used in a very traditional sense.

There's nothing "Below" about the Twisting Nether. The Twisting Nether is Warcraft's denomination for outer space, everything that is not a planet.

actually the twisting nether is not outer space. it is the void left behind after the shattering of outlands. hence it was once beneath the lands of outlands. and it is quite dark there if you havnt tried flying around it.

Sounds like a very weak and underwhelming D3 title, if it were D3. I mean, why would we need a synonym for Hell in Diablo that doesn't really have much of an impact. It just doesn't sound right...the dark below doesn't sound ominous or serious enough for the hellishness that is Diablo, it doesn't have enough of an impact.
For wow, however, it could mean many things though. Something can come from the depths, rather than us going into the depths. It...sound more right as a wow expansion.

Knowing Blizzard it's probably nothing at all to do with Diablo 3 or WoW and is just something to make us all keep guessing while they sneak around doing the real stuff - preparing a large portion of humble pie with a side dish of my own words to eat though for the next week or so

Does anyone have an actual link to the USPTO database for this? Searching on "Blizzard Entertainment" as owner or "Dark Below" as mark return 0 hits. The form posted by MMO-C looks like the online application form where you can review your filing before/after it's submitted - meaning it's possible they got it from a non-public source.

Yes, actually. You don't TM a title a few days before it going public. That just isn't how it works.

Why not? It actually makes sense to file before you announce the title - that way, you have priority over anyone else who tries to file once you announce.

Why not? It actually makes sense to file before you announce the title - that way, you have priority over anyone else who tries to file once you announce.

The theory is someone in the art department making the posters could tell a friend who "steals" the trademark; that's why you trademark months rather than weeks in advance.
