After a brief test with everything from time machine to cursor, I think selling an item will refund you 0.575 times of the price for which you bought it. For example, you buy your first time machine for 123,456,789 cookies and when you sell it, you will get 123,456,789*0.575~=70,987,654 cookies back.
Nevertheless, it's a number too hard to memorize, and the principle is actually simpler. Since the cost of another building is multiplied by 1.15 when one is bought, the amount you are refunded by selling is just half (0.5 times) of the building's current price.

The thing about the other buildings is also in the fact it boosts your cursors, which is why I have them. It's cheaper to buy a grandma or 2 then to buy another cursor after a while.

Man, those new buildings give so much more cookies. Just the jump from 0.1 to 0.5 to 2, 10, 40, 100, 400, SUDDENLY 6666. Just dafuq. xD

Blah. I need one more upgrade, but I don't know what it is. Also working on getting my cursors up to 200, what a bitch that is. I also can't figure out how I'm supposed to get up to 66,667 cookies per click to get the 1 mill in 15 clicks achievement. Just keep spitting out cookie makers? That's just time consuming lol.

No to get the 1 mill in 15 clicks you are only limited to 15 clicks the entire time. So you start up click 15 times and let cursors and grandmas and etc make cookies and you don't ever click again till they make 1 million cookies. Originally Posted by endersblade

Euh, not how it worked for me. I just put my click score up high enough (meaning my cursor clicks were worth more due to upgrades) and then clicked a few times till I got it. Any achievement you need to reset for has been changed or taken of the list that gets you benefits in making cookies. Originally Posted by zito

So, it turns out the wording on the original mathematician achievement was either very poor, or it has been changed to be "at least" instead of exactly the counts. Either way, dem grammas be expensive, yo.
