Btw, the thok's tip trinket is great, but it should be better. It doesn't scale right with skull banner:
DR no trinket, no banner: 125799
DR with trinket, no banner: 135767 (ok, it's 1.08)
DR no trinket, banner: 150988 (ok, it's 1.2)
DR with trinket, banner: 156654 (1.245?, shouldn't it be 1.296? Fail trinket)
Sounds like something that would be within the margin for error if you only did a single test (looks like it). Most spells have a damage range which means you'd have to test several times to get results you can trust. I would like to test this myself but I'm raiding with 4 other plates so no trinket yet
I tested it a coupled of times to make sure nothing proc'ed messing the results, and I choose Dragon Roar precisely because it has a fixed damage, no range (besides being an assured critical. I have 96% crit chance stacking things, so it wouldn't have been hard to try with other things ). So it's pretty much cut and dry.
Ah right, that would work then. Still the increase (seems to be around 4% over just Skull Banner) seems so arbitrary. I'd expect either no increase or the full 8%. Maybe something goes wrong in the calculation because DR always crits?
Anyways, has anyone found a good way to abuse the Electrostatic Charge mechanic on Blackfuse 10N for fun numbers on the add without endangering the raid? I guess you could take 1 out of every 3 stacks from your off-tank but that would hurt his damage on the add. Is there any way to chain the debuff without screwing over the other tank?

Your math is a bit off. Despite the fact that the amp trinket gives you an even number of a % stat increase, it's actually a long decimal number. Assuming you used the ilvl 561 version for your test, it's a ~7.54374% increase rather than 8%. Secondly, it stacks additively rather than multiplicatively, unlike pretty much everything else in the game. With normal crit damage of 200% (x*2.0), the amp trinket should make your crit damage 207.54374% (x*2.0754374). Skull Banner is multiplied onto your crit damage though, so 200% becomes 240% (x*2.0*1.2=x*2.4). The crit damage from the amp trinket seems to be added before other modifiers, or at least before Skull Banner, so wearing it with Skull Banner up your crit damage becomes 249.052488% (x*(2.0+0.0754374)*1.2=x*2.49052488). If we check the math by dividing the numbers you gave by the theoretical crit damage, each one should have the same result, that is your base Dragon Roar tooltip damage.
No trinket/no banner: 125799/2.0 = 62899.5
trinket/no banner: 135767/2.0754374 = ~65416.09
no trinket/banner: 150988/2.4 = ~62911.66
trinket/banner : 156654/2.49052488 = ~62899.99
The first, third and fourth are close enough that WoW's rounding strangeness can probably account for the difference, but the second one is way off. Not sure how to explain that, aside from you accidentally clicking on a different piece of gear, or gaining a buff you didn't notice, or your target gaining some kind of debuff. Could also be a bug perhaps. If you could try that again and make note of your Attack Power when you do it I'd be interested in the results.
Has anyone tested Skeers Bloadsoaked Talisman on Protection warrior? It dropped from Paragons last night and I used it on Garrosh, didn't seem too bad but I only had it to test before I gave it back to our Fury warrior. Is it viable?
Not the most experienced prot warrior here but I presume its good for Crit Mastery builds Jorrd though probably less survivability than others (I suppose with high enough uptime it would be reliable rage but there are probably more reliable trinkets this tier).
I have a quick question about Dagryn (the archer miniboss on 2nd tower Galakras H). Anyone know how best to deal with her? I don't need a healer on first tower and was wondering if I could do anything to not use a healer on 2nd tower either. Maybe spam barrier as her shoot doesn't seem blockable and roll shield wall into enraged regen? Which defensive cds are best here? Does disarm help?
That's great to know. I don't why I was so adamant on the trinket being multiplicative, I didn't gave it a second thought. I reckon that I expected to work like the meta and the banner, but should have seen that #2 didnt make sense then, since it couldn't have been 2.08, or 2.0754. I must have messed it up somehow yesterday, even if I did it a couple of times. It goes like:
AP: 44838, 125799 no trinket, no banner
So base damage of DR is 126+1.4*44838=62899.2, x2= 125798.4, it's ok.
AP: 44838, 130546 trinket, no banner, 130546/62899.2= 2.07547
AP: 44838, 150958 no trinket, banner, 150958/62899.2= 2.4
AP: 44838, 156655 trinket&banner, 156655/62899.2= 2.4905
So yeah, when trying to find the total it goes like (2+7.54%)*1.2. Nice to know, it's an interesting mess that some of the effects multiply and other adds, even when they are worded the same way. Unless amplify means it's additive and increases it's multiplicative. The old metagem worked like skull banner, right? (making crits 2.06, not 2.03, and being the total 2.0754*1.2*1.03)

It's curious, but with horrid napkin math disregarding CDs, that makes Tail Tip equal to Skeer's, if you account for an average 50% crit in both cases, and Skeer's actually gives you crit+str instead of only str, so there's that minor rage increase.

You pretty much need to stack all def cds the moment you engage her, have 120 rage and SBlock/SBar as much as possible. She obviously needs to die before she restarts shooting or otherwise you'll be toast.
Have done it on heroic on my pally and normal on my warri so I guess it should be doable.
Anyone of you solo tanked thok heroic ? (10man)
With the council trinket and a good CD rotation you cant do it.

Going to start working on him next reset, wondering though if one tanking is really needed to make the DPS requirements and things? Or is there no reason not to solo tank or something? Basically thinking of jus going Prot paladin/Me but if it's "silly" to duo tank it which class has the upperhand on solo tanking thok? Us or prot paladins?
Also 752K vengeance ~~ is impossible on 10 man, your tooltip might show that number, but it's not what you'd actually gain.
Do you really want the trinket from protectors in order to solo tank though, or is that just a nice addition but not manditory?

I doubt the extra DPS is needed. I know you cant kite as long in 25 but you still can kite a while.
