That's the part I hate about them spending a bunch of development time on.

I imagine those folks have one hell of a time buying hard drives these days.

Its a giant step backwards, decreasing all stats, like lvls and dmg etc. Its very reactionary and thus stupid and will most likely end up with ppl feeling that their characters are weaker than before instead of stronger and thus its killing the fun.

Its not about the gameplay, but as many stated already, the feeling of prgression.

10 levels higher to hit, for example, 30 times lower?
    I personally don't like.

Yeah...that's exactly what it isn't. Maybe read Blizzard's explanation instead of making stuff up next time!

Oh, wait. Silly me. That would MAKE SENSE.

No, it's just the process of reducing them. They don't get any easier, only smaller.

Well, if it helps, it would have effected your gameplay if they didn't do it. Negatively effected it.

Very reactionary? Ra-Den breaking the system and having to have bosses heal multiple times to prolong the boss fight say it needed to happen at some point until they can get the time to recode the systems correctly.
Looking for Raid: you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Come - we must be cautious.

I'm sure you don't even know what you said, let alone what you meant. Its surprising that with how much information, and how many locations you can find it at, people like you are still too small minded to grasp it. Real life's gotta be tough for you, huh pal?

Sigh. They are squishing all stats for technical reasons. The amount of numbers and calculations would 'break' the engine at some point. That's the primary reason for doing it. Making damage numbers within the realm of reason, is the secondary reason. Blizzard also said they'll probably squish stats again un future expansions.

Also, the squish will have no effect on our ability to solo content. Don't worry

It's basically a clean up of stats in game. Right now we're doing absurd numbers that I think are actually breaking the game (might be wrong on this) and if it continues it won't be good for the game.

All it's doing is making us, as others have said, hit for around 2k instead of 200k. We're going to be doing damage comparable to what we did in Wrath.

This won't impact soloing in the slightest; all it's doing is making all the numbers in the game done by all sources much smaller.

But is not Megadamage, is squish . So without further buffs will be harder to solo.

    Thant mean NERF.

they actually said that it´s an option to revert the squish in old instances. All they´d have to do is deactivate the formular that calcuates the squish.
but whatever, WoD will bring another big jump in itemlevels, even if its from ~30k hp at lvl 90 to 60k hp at lvl100, so if anything is changing, its actually getting easier, like every new expac.

Is it still misunderstood that the only thing changing is the numbers themselves whilst the rest of the game stays the same?

How is that hard for people to comprehend...

Item squish is pretty much how the people here explained it as well as pretty much the best thing to happen to WoW after Transmogrification.

Ignore the fact that there are many conflicting explanations in this thread, and that half (or more) of those are flat out wrong.

Because you are wrong and it isn't a pure number based solution they will have to apply. They will need another solution on top of changing the stat numbers to keep the superiority of max level characters over outdated content in place. Reading some of the posts here makes me question the school systems in the entire western world, if some of you guys were tasked with implementing a solution to this problem we'd be doing m/u/n-Dmg.. with integers.

They've made many things clear and ended up not being true. The best strategy with Blizzard is to wait and see what gets released, you simply cannot trust anything they say.

For soloing content, they could just give you a buff when you're 90 and you enter a low level raid alone. Or scale the mobs down 20 levels.
