you literally quote the direct thing by them saying they want it out BY SPRING
"Does that mean it is a goal to bring it in to Summer or Spring?"
"Well certainly the goal is before that, but we'll see, it is very hard for us to predict."

If it means that the expansion will come faster, sure. Nobody gave a flying fuck about Ruby Sanctum anyways, and I can't even remember what content we got pre-MoP.
Like many people said, they're not doing this because of lazyness, but because they want to release Warlords of Draenor faster. So yes I agree with Blizzard's decision.
weirdly enough, very few people that play games consider them finished when you have done all 4 difficulty levels available. a majority will go through one, or two at most, before they figure they are finished.
and anyway, out of the people that DO actually finish all the heroic modes, how many of them will be completely decked out in heroic when they stop for the expansion? damn few, i would think.
When challenging a Kzin, a simple scream of rage is sufficient. You scream and you leap.

I want this addon to be released asap, and Blizzard seems to share my opinion.
I don't think the beta will take 6 months or so, but we'll see.
Well without hindsight it is kinda hard to say, basically this is what I think:
If WOD is before May 2014. Yes I think no patch is reasonable.
If after May, then no. I think players will be scraping the barrel for things to do in that time.
It's just a new continent with a few dungeons and 2 raids. I doubt the beta will last as long as the previous ones because they've said they will launch even if player models aren't done completely and patch those in later.
I'd say that its in Alpha atm, and Beta will come Mid Dec-Early Jan, and we'll be looking at a release anytime between May and August. Which means 8 months AT LEAST without new content, with a possibility of no content for up to 11 months
I'm definitely not happy about the announcement. I was hoping they'd have some kind of proper content-update, something to bring the Pandaren story to a close, perhaps even introducing a Monk-Legendary before Mists' end.
I really feel like this expansion has been pretty barren of content, so hopefully they can get the expansion out in the 6-month timeframe, or around that.
Yes I agree with the decision. It just obvious that working on MoP content will decrease time allowed to WoD (yeah yeah I know, they are super rich they should hire more herpderp).
But yes I also fear the long wait with nothing new. We have no date for DIII RoS, no date for WoD, no date for HotStorm, no date for Hearthstone. COME ON BLIZZARD !!!! I want something blizzardy new to play (outside hearthstone).
Content release pace was really well done imo during MoP. But the dreaded expansion awaiting is not over. Hope it wont be too long (I still highly enjoy T16, and will at least until after Xmas).
I know they dont seem like "much" usually, but I think a WHOLE hell of a lot more effort and time goes into things like that, and especially a class that has the lower representation of monks @ 90, it would be largely wasted. They did say they would be doing maybe 1 or 2 next xpac tho. I still doubt monks will be in that boat tho.
TBH, sounds like they're pretty far along already with a lot of the things that would need so much testing. The squish is already available and has to just be player tested since it's in the playable areas at Blizzcon right now. Not to mention it sounds like much of the new areas are worked on already, again because they're playable at Blizzcon now (though it's hard to tell since I haven't seen any posts about people playing there).
They've already got the first two raids in the works and another of the big features is character models which they've said they'll not hold up the new expansion for. It's not like they're adding a new race, new class or some huge overhaul of what is existing. They've even already got the level 100 talents in mind and ready for the testing. I think it's a lot further along than what people here are freaking out about.

No new patches this game = faster launch time for WoD. If they add a patch to the game before 6.0 then that delays the launch of the game. I don't think it will take a year to release the game I think it will be sooner than we think since their focus is on getting this game out there faster than later.
Hm, don't see there any word about the actual length until the expansion comes. So, your poll is not related to your topic. Do I agree with Blizzards decision to concentrate on WoD? Yes. Does that mean I would be happy with no content for a year? Hell no.
