flip it around and ask the raiders who are there (24 in + 1 who has to bench lets say) and tell them they will have to completly carry someone and 24 man bosses (which can actualy be harder to carry on some bosses than plain 24 manning), and you give that person all the loot they want lets say

if im a raider in that group, for a weeks lockout and sveral hours of my time id probably want upwards of 30k for payment, take that times 25 and there you go

people saying they would pay 100k are basically saying that these elite raiders value their time at about 1k/h

Unless this is a top tier guild (top 5) they are getting ripped off. There are guilds that can and would do this for way less with loot in the top 20.

Other than that in the top handful you are paying for prestige - you got to raid with <insert famous guild here> - of course you didn't - they play your account or force you to suicide at the start of the pull.

I have a good friend in a top 20 guild who filled me in about a lot of stuff to do with that kind of boost selling.

If I > had < the money, and if it would be 25 man and I would get loot prio, then sure.

Not sure what amount, would depend on what my max cash would be.

Although that's not the case. But tbh, it sort of feels better to earn it yourself. Plus, if I get supergood gear now..
Then what am I going to do until the expansion gets released?

There will be not much point for me to do raids unless for achievments, but that can usually be done quite easily. And tbh, I think SoO is quite fun, except for some bosses and sigh.. I hate some people when you do flex/normal pugs :| Let's ignore LFR.

Stupid, I'd feel fake wearing all of my "bought" heroic pieces, even though I'd never be fully heroic geared in my current position, I'd rather just wear the gear I've earned, that's far more satisfying for me.

Buying a boost for final raid's heroic loot doesn't make sense anyway, what would you need it for? If it's transmog, you can get that much easier next expansion. Same for titles and meta achievements, or heirlooms.

The only thing worth actually buying is the mount from normal kill this patch, or one from HC kill (as the droprate will probably be nerfed with pre-WoD patch), imo.

Only 80 guilds in the world have killed Heroic Garrosh on 25man (I assume selling runs is much more difficult in 10man), I don't think that's "so many guilds farming heroic". Even if the guilds were spread out 1 per server, which they aren't, that's only 15% of servers in the world that would have the opportunity to buy runs on. There is certainly not enough supply to balance out demand so much that prices will drop so low its practically free.

I've been a buyer and carry in gdkp runs. Proudly wore my gear and didn't even care.

750k? I'll gladly carry anyone for 750k in the guild bank.

Guild bank...you wouldn't split the money between your hard working raiders?

I hope you're paying for literally every single enchant, gem, potion, food, reforge, and repair for your raiders.

I paid 20 or 30k back in the day for Mimiron's Head after my guild stopped farming it. I wonder how much gold that would be today with inflation?

In Cata I paid for FL heroic run for the mount. I paid 200k to a 10m guild and another 50k for the Dragonslayer title, so 250k total. It took about 2hrs to get it all done, so each person made something like 12k an hour...not bad profit.

Why do guilds do this? Some guilds pay for EVERYTHING for their raiders. Repairs, gems, enchants, BoE etc. Just the repair gold for competitive raiders at the start of a tier are insane I am told.

Prices at the start of an xpac are always high too, so these guilds use banked gold to get their raiders whatever they need for day 1 raid day.

In Cata I played the AH everyday to make my gold. I knew raiders who were sitting on gold cap from selling runs...yes, there is that much demand out there.

There are plenty of heroic guilds on Ravencrest(EU). Not sure how many have killed Garrosh on Heroic 25man but it's probably quite a few of them. And anyone who wants heroic gear/achievements/titles are on one of those servers that support Heroic raiding guilds. You'll never find a person on a lowpop RP server wanting or is able to pay up towards 500k gold for an heroic boost run. Everyone who is "important" enough to want heroic shit is on high populated mainstream servers, so that's exactly where you'll find people willing to pay for it. Now, with that said.

What exactly are you buying for 200k+ gold? As a person with moderate skill, decent gear and knowledge of tactics - You're not exactly dead weight. You'll be there pushing 230-250k Dps while following the tactics to your best knowledge through the raid leaders guidance. You are essentially a paying replacement for another person that couldn't make it to the run. So it's pretty clear you're not paying them to haul dead weight, those times have long past, people are too good these days to be considered dead weight. You are paying them to bring you with them because you're too lazy/busy and unmotivated to spend 20-30 hours/week preparing for and raiding Heroic content.

Simply put; You are paying to work so that you might (MAYBE) get items you normally wouldn't be able to obtain due to lack of time or motivation. Is that really worth more than 100k to people? It's not to me at least.
