I actually think it was changed in late Wrath. The quote was meant for this day and age. I know good and well that you could be banned for excessive camping back then. I had a friend who got suspended for camping players from a certain guild for 6-12 hours straight.
I've thought of something similiar. Even though ganking has been around as long as the game, and I readily observe the "if its red its dead" rule, something like this would help certain situations. An example would be my servers Halfhill, with 2-3 players from the same guild ganking anyone and everyone doing their dailies, anyone ever gets close to killing them(which i have on a few occasions) otherwise they run into their phased farm to escape judgement. So it would be nice to see a more punishing debuff on those types of people, and probably not so much on the casual world ganker. Least enough of a debuff to inhibit further griefing as they are probably farming gear with relative ease.
Actually, I know people who farm honor from people like that. So I wouldn't want to see a debuff.
I should point out, my Character Kompressor was once Hated on ED, I refuse to put him in PVP gear right now, which means he is not ready for PVP in open world anymore, I get along just fine. I still get honor in World PVP even though I don't use it on gear.
I must say I agree, even thought I don't hate PvP, killing low lvl players are still dishonorable, and should be treated as such. If ppl want to PvP it's fine, but try to attack someone your own lvl, who actually have a chance of fighting back.
I think most ppl who attack low-lvls are afraid to get their asses kicked, so they attack weaker people who stand no chance against them, all so they can feel strong and mighty, and overcome the insecurity from school where they were being bullied.
Why? It's pvp server. If you want to lvl in safe kindergarten you can choose pve server then transfer to pvp server when you are max level. Then you can transfer back to pve server when next expansion hits. Etc. Etc. Etc.
No one forces you to level on pvp server!

I will make second account just for this :P
Why you think the Net was born? Porn! Porn! Porn!
Basically when WOW first dropped, that was essentially what they did, there were a ton of players who saw the punishment as a badge of honor, also normal PVP'rs where getting DKs from city raids, and fights in places like Tarren Mill. Which is why they slowly removed DK from the game. Now it is so forgotten that there is a class called DK and no one makes a joke about that.
I wish they would implement the DK system again. I play on both PvP AND PvE servers so please don't respond with shit like then go play a PvE carebear server. PvP is not ganking low levels or killing non combat NPCs even on a PvP server. 3 levels difference up or down max in my opinion to not get a DK.
That would be the only kind of kills Rogues and Feral druids would ever accrue.

Been so long I completely forgot about those fights, they were more like full scale riots, pockets of players fighting spread all over the area, little organization and a lot of mayhem, good times.
oh how i love hearing people complain about world pvp.
Hears the solution to your problems.
With the way every wow toon is, they all have base resil now. so for the lvl 90s in halfhill getting killed. quit qqing you've been given a fighting chance. and if they really are killing anyone who lands. obviously this means that you would be able to out number them/out skill them and force them to leave. As me and a few guildies have done ourselves in many different zones of Azeroth. And something that some people may not be aware of. Pvp gear caps out at 522 ilvl. which means that even if all you do is LFR you can still upgrade it all to a 536 ilvl. giving you a 14 point ilvl over them if they are in pvp gear. and a lot more life and damage output then they have. This potential to kill "gankers/pvpers" is greatly increased the more gear you are able to obtain.
I play on Black Dragonflight(pvp) Horde side. And I'm one of the people that does PvP on a reg basis and i also raid SoO, now i'm not saying i'm the best geared person on my server but my gear is fairly decent. 564 on my fury war and 560 on my lock. so with the information i just gave you i generally have about 250k-350k depending on the class more HP then the people out killing others. i also have double the dmg output cause with just battle shout i'm sitting around 64k ap. my lock has generally double the HP pvpers have and a insane amount of self healing that makes me almost un-killable, plus being able to get a CB crit for half their helps most certainly stops them in their tracks. Any form of CC will also help you to be able to escape every class has the ability to get away/chase down their opponent/target. my advise to those who are being ganked is truly learn your class go in your spell book and look for survival based skills that you dont use in pve anymore since CC in raids and dungeons has been rendered obsolete. then work with some friends also experiencing the problems you are or are experienced in the art of pvp to find ways to escape/kill the other person.
Really it isn't hard. This is the most recent expansion that I've done serious pvp since vanilla/tbc, and i still retain the knowledge i had then including the changes made over they years to pvp. And from personal experience the only class's I've had any real problems with being able to escape on would have to be my war, for the fact that are stuns are on a low timer and our fear has a huge cd. I play every class except a mage or priest but have seen both the class's i don't play be able to get away from me and my friends when we went after them.
the only time to explain is when you are new to the game and don't have a max level toon, or are in a not so well off guild to put it as nice as i can. but there are always people willing to snatch "greifers" and put them in their place i being one of them. now i do from time to time put some hurt on people i know cant kill me and its for what others have said that it can get them on their main if they have one or(the most fun outcome) they have a group of guildies come out and i get some and we have a all out brawl.
anyways i've think i've let this continue on long enough, my parting words are. there is allways someone on both sides looking for a fight. and generally the zones are well known for it. so just ask for some help and someone will help you.
