Well, to be fair, his was a bit more sturdy - I believe in both build quality and appearance. :P

    Whiteboard marker + black tape.

Asus fixed that issue with their later DCII cards with a built-in brace sandwiched between the PCB and backplate, holds it dead straight.

    1. Lift the card
    2. Pull the gpu cables in the back of your case so it holds it
    3. Ziptie it once more :P

    Should work too :P

Yeah i tried tying the cables upwards.

It fixed it a little bit:

At the very least it wont do any harm now by getting worse.

Replaced a very dusty Nzxt Gamma classic ( attracts lots of dust) with a Crosair Carbide 330r with proper intake filters.

surely you can do better on the cable management :P

  9. #12169
Slim ATX boards looks so small :C

As for cable management, it won't really have much of an impact on performance; It was more crucial in the days of ribbon-cables -- where it was also much, much worse for cable management to begin with.

Ribbon cables, surely you just mean IDE?

Cmon now, we all know they were called "those stupid ribbons" I'm not one for cable management myself(partially because i'm not going to bother with my crappy case and wait until i get a decent rig) but those things were annoying as hell ANY time you wanted to reach inside the case.

My poor rig is sitting with the side-panel off and the front-panel off to improve airflow(HDD is in the process of biting the dust and likes to overheat if I do stuff that uses it too much, a game full of loading screens for example) and my current GPU isn't really fit for this case, what-with the fan sucking air and blowing it out the sides of the card(the side of my case is pretty much solid metal aside from a few holes, hardly enough airflow for anything).

Though I do have a few gift cards from a early xmas from some family members, so a new case might be in order!
If you must insist on using a non-sanctioned sitting apparatus, please consider the tensile strength
of the materials present in the object in question in comparison to your own mass volumetric density.

In other words, stop breaking shit with your fat ass.

Just bought the Corsair Air 540 off Microcenter after returning my 780.

Yes, that is a Galaxy GT 9600. Don't judge. I'm just using it temporarily until the non-reference 290/290x comes out.

This picture is with the glass door on. I need to buy a few molex adapter so I can hide the fan cables in the other chamber.

    CPU: I5-3570k @ 4.3 GHz
    CPU Cooler: H100i in push/pull

    I'm trying to figure out how you're still using a 9600... O_O

Have you had nothing in between that and the 290?

guess your setup is going to be neat as soon as you get your 290x gpu. how is the corsiar air 540 case btw ? currently having an old computer that i am planning to upgrade, with a new case aswell. heard good things about the case, but not really sure if it is worth the investment .

Overall, I really love this case and the unique dual-chambers design. Cable management is a breeze. You have all the room you'll ever need in the PSU chamber. I tied in an half-ass way and it still looks nice enough when looking through the display window. This is the inside of the other chamber (yes, I'm lazy to wire it nicely. No one is gonna check out this side anyway):

The cooling is comparable if not better than my old NZXT Fantom (with all the fans) though the front 140 mm intakes of the Air 540 are pretty loud. Has its own tool-less SSD bay (just slide the SSD in) but it's kinda flimsy. PSU mount can be tool-less but I screwed it in just to be safe. Has TWO 3.0 USB on the front (this is a biggy for me since most cases only have one).

Edit: I'm thinking of "blinging" it up with some LED strips like this: http://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Technolog...words=nzxt+led

    Asus Maximus V Extreme
    16gb Gskill Ripjaw
    Asus GTX780ti
    Corsair H100i
    Samsung 840 256 ssd
    2 x Seagate 1tb drives
    Corsair TX850
    Corsair Carbide 540 case

    Razer Naga (left handed!)
Logitech G27, for racing sim goodness.

    Up next:

new monitor. Currently running an old Hanns-G 28" monitor, but am waiting to see how the upcoming LG UltraWide UM95 (34") fares for overall use, and how terrible the price is

Build was finished on Saturday, so far, so good. Seems to simply not break a sweat at anything that's been thrown at it thus far.

    AMD 8350 OC 4.6Ghz + Corsair H110 (CPU+COOLER)
Asus Crosshair V Formula Z (MOTHERBOARD)
    Asus Crossfire HD7970 X 3 (GRAPHICS CARDS)
OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD + WD Black 1TB (HARD DRIVES)
Ripjaws 32GB dual channel at 2133 (RAM)
    Corsair AX 1200i (POWER SUPPLY)
    Corsair 900D (CASE)

Samsung series 7 46 inch (SCREEN)
    Razer Deathstalker Ultimate (KEYBOARD)
    Razer Mamba/Imperator (MOUSE)
    RAZER Tiamat 7.1 (HEADPHONES)

Setup is 1 year old and gaming in 3d at 60Fps is epic but nauseating!

Not my build obviously, but I thought I'd bring up that murderbox have renamed themselves MBXForma, and finished another prototype, this time for Gearbox.

Just thought it was pretty cool and required an honorable mention. Link.

Looks really nice, but...not digging the gentle typhoons though. Just seems subpar in quality compared to the rest. And having 4x 2ballbearing fans ramping up wont be a pretty sound.
