Would love to see either Shaman or Druid but I think they really do deserve to be hunters. I don't get that one either.
As for fitting classes Rogue, Mage or Warlock all seem to fit but I love my little Gnome DK and I love seeing Gnome warriors.

I don't get why you guys suggest hunter. To tame a beast, you must be able to get it to respect you. Do you guys really see a Gnome being able to tame a bear or a gorilla?
I though they actually always had an aditional class, the "no" class.
I really hate gnomes.
Well played.
I always thought as a "class/race" concept, Gnomes should BUILD their pet. I had the idea back when hunters still ahd to feed their pets - could have made it so gnomes needed lots of "copper wire" and "salvaged cogs" to "feed" (repair) their mecha-pet. Kinda like A-ME-01 or w/e its called in Un'goro.
A walking corpse that a bear would probably want to eat seems to be able to tame beasts just fine, so do explosive little green people with no interest in nature and werewolves whose claws shouldn't be able to fire guns and bows. I don't think a Gnome hunter is any more outrageous than Undead, Goblin, and Worgen hunters
One beatiful day gnomes will be removed from wow and alliance will finally get high elves as it should have been from the beggining =P
I don't know why blizz mixed the beastmaster with hunter/ranger from ther RTS games but a gnome hunter from that perspective would be acceptable, paladin wouldn't be right and shaman or druid makes zero sense to happen
Druid!
Give me my bonsai form RIGHT NOW.
Druid just for the gnome forms.
If a NEW Panda can show up and train me to be a Monk, surely an OLD Night Elf can show up and teach me how to be a Druid.
I think Hunter would be an easy fit, for both lore and game mechanics. Gnome Druid would make the least amount of sense to me. Although, I have to admit that it would be awesome watching a Gnome shapeshift to a bear.
Even though Several Gnome Leaders are Paladins/warrior hybrids, and there is no reason why Gnomes can not become a Paladin, the issue over Hunters has me livid.
The race that promotes the use of ranged weapons, and has an engineering buff, which is the profession which makes guns and crossbows. Can't use the weapons they make. It wasn't as much an issue back when Warriors and Rogues could use these weapons, but now they don't and Gnomes have no class that uses the iconic gnomish weapon.
Also and this is very important, gnomes are the only race that doesn't wear Mail in the End game. They are the only race that can't be a hunter.
I can wait for Paladins, because they are iconic to humans and Dwarves, but the Marksman Hunter is the core class of all Gnome Warriors.
Friends don't let friends roll gnomes
Boring Argument, not at all, Goblins and Dwarves are nearly as short as a gnome. Also I have many mounts to include dragons, Raptors, Tigers, and other large carnivores. I play mostly Gnomes.
And to prove that is an invalid argument, here is my RP gnome Paladin riding a Giant Scorpion.
