Lets say you work a full time job and start work at 8-9 AM and finish at 4-5 PM. Assuming you're a raider, that means you have 2ish hours until your raid starts at 7 or 8, depending on your guild. That 2 hours can be spent grinding mats for raids or leveling an alt. An adult has the ability to play just as much as a kid does... they just need to budget their time. Instead of going downtown w/ the bros, you're sitting at your PC raiding w/ 24 others. I only made that sacrifice when I was in top 50 guilds US. Prior to getting in those guilds, i'd flake instantly as soon as i knew a few friends had something planned. Every excuse from laggy too cat on fire was used, but when I was in the top end guilds, i'd cancel on my friends and sit at my PC for 5 hours 4 times a week. I was working 45-50 hours a week too when I was in top end guilds, I just had to take a hit to my social life, but it was worth it in my eyes.

Most the people in my WoW guild were over 20, either full time college or full time work. Played when they got home.

Depends what you want out of it. I want much less out of it now(I am 28), than I did when I started when I was 21.

We don't live in America, so we got loads of time due to not working 12 hours a day.

I take it out the time other people sleep. The benefits of a sleeping disorder, yay.

26 years old, I got plenty time if I want to. I work from 08:00 to 15:00-16:00 everyday except saturday & sunday ofc. After work, im done with that for the day. So if I want to play wow until bedtime I can do so, but I rarely do these days.. :P

Honestly, wow has changed to much over the years. If we were still in classic/Bc, the question you asked would be valid. Now? Not really. Spendt time online can be used effective and you can reach goals. Ofc slower than if you were online half the day, but its much easier to progress now than ever before.

As im getting older with more responsibility, I am glad for that. Cause of that, I can keep playing my favourite game of all time

I'm 23, and a Clinical Laboratory Science major in a university. I have between 3 and 6 hours of classes each day, Monday through Friday, and I also work on campus. Except for Tuesday, when my day is done at 8pm, I finish around 5:00pm and spend the next few hours on any work I need to get done.

I usually can get online around 8pm, and I go to bed at midnight. That gives me 20 hours of playtime each week right there, if I use all 4 hours each night to play Warcraft. Weekends can range anywhere from 0 hours due to homework and studying or socializing or being out of town to as much as 12 hours a day because I just had an exam and get an easy weekend. This means that, at 23, going to school full-time and working part-time, I can play Warcraft between 20 and 44 hours a week, give or take. That's hardly "barely possible."

I schedule and prioritize my two raid nights (6 hours a week, in total- 3 hours each Tuesday and Thursday) over any other play time. I'm 8/14H, so it's perfectly possible to be decently progressed and only play 6 hours a week- I don't need to be online any more than that if I'm in crunch time for my studies.

Once I graduate, CLS professionals have the option to work 12-hour weekend shifts, which would leave me totally free Monday through Friday to do whatever I want for the rest of my working life. Or, if I decide I'd rather work 9-5, it's not like I'd have studying and homework like I do in school, so I can come home, eat dinner, spend some time with my boyfriend/fiancee/husband, and then grab a few hours of play before bed. Weekends would also be free.

It really depends on your lifestyle and time management, but it's very, very possible for someone 20+ to find time to play. I actually have a lot more time now than I did when I was a teenager, since I was under my parent's roof and had to bow to their demands on my computer usage. Once I hit 18 and went off to school, I was able to have a raid schedule and start playing more seriously.

Play after work and chores are done.

I'm married, work a full-time job and attend community college part time.

I still have time to cap my valor and do all 4 flex for the week.

You either make time, or do what you can in what little time you have. In a 50+ hour week, I may only play for an hour (in that week) it's .50 cents a day man, you can burn 10 hours per-say you have it, and some times you do. You'll never be the best, but you can have loads of fun. I guess you just have to have some reasonable goals.

You can either feel envious, or pity for what people have for time to play.

    I'm over 30.
Ive done that and had a social life outside of the game while in a hardcore difficulty oriented guild. The only things that really require great time sinks are the top progression guilds which will put in multitudes more hours that requiring the taking off of work and putting aside other activities.

The only true killer of such things is having a baby that needs that constant attention at which point those who complain about not having time yet do LFR are full of bullshit.

Also a number of the developers are also raiders. More casual play time guilds can run 4-6 hours a week with the more progression focused ones going 9-12 and even then that time frame is not as common as it was. You just dont need a lot of time to play WoW, but making an attempt to stabilize game play aspects by joining a guild an finding a schedule that suits you can make playing the game far more efficient use of a persons time. Even if you want to go PuG raiding while it might not get as far as a coordinated guild they can be one night things and with the smaller raids of Cata I was spending 1.5-2 hours including finding a group and clearing content while getting normal mode rewards. The only factor that time is an excuse is during odd hours of the day and when you only have 15-30 minute time slots.

Good time management for the most part. It also helps that I'm three hours ahead of my guild's raid time (two days a week) so when we start my wife is getting ready to turn in for the evening, the kids are in bed and I'm settled in for a few hours of online socialising. I wouldn't be able to do the non-flex/LFR raiding thing if I was running on server time.

I have more free time now that I'm out of school then I did in school. High School for me was horrid on time

Wake up at 4am to shower/eat/take care of cat box
    School at 5:30am
Spend a horrid 1h30m on bus because the HS Where I lived shut down and had to go to the closest HS around.
    Go to school until 3pm
Another 1h30m on bus to get home.
    Homework usually around 6-7.
    Eat dinner with family.
    Go to bed around 10-10:30

Usually left me with 2-3 hours a day of free time.

I am in my 20s and only play at night after everything like homework and other tasks are done for the day. I find that I have about 3-5 hours to play every night, depending on the night.

What are you doing that takes so much time??

Pretty much everything in this game can be done in under a couple hours. Want to raid? 3 hours tops, if even.

In our age - it is possible to work from home and with the time that you want. Sucks to be you if you cant manage that.
