How much DPS should I be pulling before I can attempt to join SoO HC groups?

    As the title says.

I'm trying to get into heroic raiding, but I'm unsure how much DPS I should be pulling before I can join a group without being a liability.

My itemlevel is 554 currently, and I'm usually pulling between 250k and 270k on single target fights. I can play both SV and BM.

I'd be grateful for any help.

Thanks for reading and have a good day.

That sounds way too high for 554

Not really. Depends on your standards, I guess, honestly, I was doing 270k on a decent day in ~546 with a 567 weapon as MM, not that unrealistic.

So with that said, the DPS should be enough to get you into most entry-level HC raiding guilds.

SimCraft puts me at 281k max, so if anything, there's still some room for improvement.

Thanks for the answers so far guys, i guess I'll just give it a try then.

I will be assuming your lag/ping is < 50, with higher lags u start loosing some good number in DPS. if u can pull that number u have very low lag + better skills. either way u r ready to start heroics anyway.
