    Durak, son of Thrall

I know this name is all Orcish and stuff, but in my native language, Russian, this name means "fool". It's hard to take Thrall's parenthood seriously when his son is a fool.

This is new, exciting, and has never been brought up before.

After I named my original character "Desparatus" without checking to see if it meant anything, I always do a quick google to see if a fantasy name means anything.

    Blizz should take note.

This just in: words sometimes sound like other words in other languages.

Blizzard should have named Durak "Twelve Months" in Estonian

Go'el is Hebrew for redeemer, and has been used to describe jesus...At least Durak sounds like an orc name, Go'el does not.

At least it's better than "Thrall"

Going along with this then it isn't surprising to see most Orcs siding against Thrall. Should you make a comparison given the circumstances.

I've never liked the way Go'el sounds.

"It has been used to describe Jesus" well maybe, but everything has. According to wiki it more accurately refers to someone in ancient Hebrew society who was "the nearest relative of another is charged with the duty of restoring the rights of another and avenging his wrongs". Pretty obvious metaphor for Thrall's role as a redeemer of the Orcs and restorer of their rights/society.

What's wrong with that? I quite like his "slave name". Like, a literal slave name.

I'm Russian too, and I caught this lol. You would think with all their Russian players they would have caught and changed this awhile ago.

He's not a slave anymore! He's a hero of Azeroth!

we don't really know actual "orc" names before the cultural revolution of RIP AND TEAR that the demon influence brought.

After his last encounter with Garrosh in-game it's pretty hard to look at Thrall as a hero anymore, or anything but a has been really.

I think he wears it as a mark of pride actually. And a reminder.

Unless they all got new names I think most of the main Orc lore characters predate the drinking of demon blood.

Isn't there a jug of hatorade you should be drinking somewhere?

Yeah we do. All the characters from rise of the horde had orc names before the demon influence, they didn't all change their names after they started killing draenei.

"Go'el" is close enough to "Gul'dan" for it to be a plausible orc name.

Let me ask you, which sounds better? Go'els balls, or Thrall's Balls?

What, I have to be drinking hatorade because they turned Thrall into a coward? I didn't jump on the not liking Thrall bandwagon until that absolutely pathetic display in Siege. I think I'd have been okay with him tucking tail and running if he didn't try to sneak back in and steal the killing blow.

For Thrall instead of being Go'el He can be Go'away.

    Durak sounds fine though.

Maybe it's intentional? (Darth) Vader is similar to Vater which means 'father' in German.
