Cloak and Dagger, and Shadowstep constantly, and unreliably, keep sending me through the ground into the Void, and kill me... Than DC me a few seconds later, and won't let me log back into the character until nearly 10 attempts at logging in; to only be forcefully hearth to my Inn location; With it on Cooldown... >,<!
IF you use BOS Sprint becomes an almost use less skill so there should be a talent in place of crappy Cloak and dagger that makes sprint much better.
Whats not to get? Just my proposal instead of the boring somewhat popular idea of copying the Tier 1 Warrior talents that enhance Charge.
yeah what the fuck Blizzard, why do we have a completely useless talent? NO ONE ever takes this, because it's UTTER GARBAGE.
they should just delete it or make it work with shadow dance as it always was intended to! (that would still make it useless for ass and combat tho)
a passive that gives you a 15% movement speed increase and a 20% reduction to the duration of slows effecting you.
Or a passive that grants you increased speed for x seconds after hitting an enemy.

If BoS replaced Sprint it would certainly promote less button bloat. And it could make sense since the abilities are very similar. For raids it would just make BoS less attractive. Sprint doesn't have a resource cost, and is preferable to use instead of BoS whenever you want to spend your Energy on damage. Shadowstep is the main go-to ability for raiding. I know there are some encounters where I use BoS however. This mobility row is probably one of the Rogue talent rows I respec the most. And that leads to the question, if BoS replaced Sprint every time you specced BoS, how much use would you get out of freeing up the Shadowstep button those few times you spec out of it? Would you really rebind Shadowstep to something else for that encounter?
CnD is good the way it is, but I keep suggesting myself that it should also passively increase movement speed in addition to what it currently does. Your second suggestion is the best since you won't get the movement speed bonus while Stealthing (for the most part), but you'll get it whenever you're in Combat.
