Why didn't Blizzard name the Flex difficulty "Easy"?

And let Normal be Normal and Heroic be Heroic. Would have saved everyone a whole lot of trouble.

Because no one likes to be told they're playing on easy mode.

I'm confused, there is no flex. Normal is normal and heroic is heroic...

But most single player games as easy? I've never played those tho, I tend to start on normal or hard

The same reason they made normal "heroic". Makes the bads of this game feel good about themselves.

But "Easy - Normal - Hard" difficulties have been the standard difficulties in every game i ever played, that way everyone can pick the difficulty they're best suited for.

    What trouble?

Also, LFR is the "easy mode". Normal is supposed to be progression for that demographic. It's not supposed to be easy.

because ease of playing is relitive to skill.

That is true it's always been like that. But I'm not sure people actually put easy as the difficulty unless they aren't that confident in themselves / it's their kid playing. You usually start out with Normal and see how it is before you change difficulty. Having easy would probably not be an adequate option, as there is already LFR which I would rather consider easy.

Please tell us about the troubles you've had because of this change? I'm sure they're really fascinating stories.

Lol, what trouble would that be? It takes a special kind of stupid to not be able to wrap one's head around this change.

How is this more accurate than

LFR = easy, normal = normal, heroic = hard, mythic = very hard

No see because he wants to feel superior to any scrubs that think heroic is actually hard.

I love how insanely elitist everyone has become because of the changes to how normal and heroic work. Every time the difficulty is mentioned, everyone must go out of their way to say how easy it is and whatnot.

Playing on easy suggests you are playing sub-normal.
Most people would probably be offended by the fact that they have to play sub-normal in order to achieve something.
Therefore call the bottom difficulty normal and go up from there.

Why because normal atm is not easy, if you want easy its LFR, where you can stand in shit and not die.

I hate players that suck at WoW, But I also hate wanna be elitist who barely down normal raid and said that the game is too easy...... yea show me you mythic achivement before you say its too easy otherwise move along scum, because I heard wildstar need you.

Remember that LFR is the easiest raiding difficulty. Most games have easy, normal, hard and very hard (or some random name for very hard like insane or w/e).
