    Hey All,

This is a parse for one of my guild members. We seem to have trouble on fights that require any decent amount of healing, and going by the meters it seems that our monk is having the most issues in terms of throughput. He is a nice guy that shows up every night, and seems to have no trouble with boss mechanics so I want to see if we can get his healing to where it needs to be.
I'm no MLG mythic monk, but where are you placing your MW monk on H Butcher attempts? they're going to excel a lot more if they're clumped in with the melee group running RJW while their group is eating cleaves.

He seems to be casting soothing mists way too much on fights where it should rarely be used, and not getting the most out of renewing mist charges to get more Uplift healing.

    Summary:
    • Make sure your MW monk is in with the melee cleave group, Rushing Jade Wind will up his healing done by a very, very large margin but they need to learn how to use it without going OOM within 10 seconds lol.
    • Don't use Soothing mists all the time, it should never be your #1 heal on any fight, Uplift & Revival should be.
    • I personally, would drop healing elixirs.. most often dampen harm or diffuse magic is better. In the case of H Butcher, i go dampen harm to mitigate his cleaves.

Half of his Soothing Mists channeling is directed at your druid tank, yet you have 2 holy paladins in your raid comp. He should never have to look at your tanks with two beacons and holy paladins backing them up. The exception can be during his berserk phase you can drop a cocoon on them if they need some extra mitigation.

I feel I am doing less dps than what I am supposed to do. (did 24.5k dps on H butcher, when rest of the guild did 30k.)
Another question. When I have FoF come off CD, and IF have around 7 stacks of TeB. Should I hold off using FoF until I have 10 stacks or can I just pop the 7 stacks and use FOF?

Always use it at 10 stacks and with decent procs, anything less than that is a waste of dps. Also never use it during Serenity in the opener(or during any serenity at this point).

Not entirely sure where you got some of this information, but delaying FoF to wait for 10 stacks is pretty much always a waste of DPS because its easy to miss a cast throughout the fight if you do this more than once. Because TEB is a 15s buff and FoF has a 25s CD, 9 times out of 10 you'll be able to use TEB independent of FoF and still have a FoF somewhere in the buff's duration. However specifically holding off on a FoF till 10 stacks of TEB will likely lose you a cast later in the fight.

The only reason to hold off on FoF is if you wont be able to attack the target for its full duration.

Tiger Power: 95%, fell off a few times, could likely be higher
Fists of Fury: 7 of 8 casts
Rising Sun Kick: 18 of 25
    Chi Wave: 12 of 13
    Chi Brew: 5 of 5
    Energizing Brew: 3 of 3
    Serenity: 3 of 3
Touch of Karma: 2 of 3

You lost a little bit of DPS in some missed casts. Other than that I'm not seeing a huge reason for low dps other than your gear. Getting Scales of Doom, which you didnt seem to have for the kill you linked, is a pretty big difference.

Hello all. From my prospective it doesnt seem that I am wasting chi or that my uptime is off however I feel sorta gimped as of late. Just a few quick questions as well. Currently for mythic I am not doing stands and for M Twins we are doing the in and out method meaning that the two mobs are not stacked for about 40% of the fight. I am going ST for kargarth and feel VERY gimped but for M Twins, am I losing out massively because of our strat? Meaning, should I be using chi ex at 3 instead of 4 when they are spread outside of 8 yards since I cannot get the cleave? Also I was not previously using SCK on tectus but what is the optimal usage? During the 8 add phase I assume and just jab and keep TP up and RSK and chi ex when I can but try and keep SCK up as close to 80% as possible? Also ive noticed my melee attack is missing 15-20% of the time, is this due to poor positioning ie not dpsing directly behind the boss? Thanks so so much you guys are awesome!

Hey guys, I'll preface by saying I only picked up my monk around Christmas (boosted 90) and my first raid was on the second of this month. I've been incredibly lucky with gear since then, but at the time of this combat log I had blue legs and shoulders. My main reason for posting is whilst I feel I have grasped the basics of the class I really don't know what I should be focusing on improving to do better (or really have the technical knowledge on how to use WoL to find out). Before my monk I was playing a rogue where I was constantly placing in at least 65th percentile and I feel my performance on the monk is not even close, based on sim crafts claiming I should be pulling much higher than I am. Linked butcher but would be very grateful if other logs can be analysed. Please ask if there's any other info that I need to include

He got luckier with the procs compared to you in a shorter battle. Both Tiger Strikes and the Scales proc are higher. You have a few missed casts here and there but the main problem I see is with the BoK dot - you're not staying behind the Butcher enough and therefore missing some damage. I can't wait for the stupid glyph to return.

Hi team, this is for my guild's WW since his dps seems to be struggling and I'd be lying if I said I'm well versed with Windwalker this expac (the only one of the three specs I've almost completely ignored (~")~ ).

So I pretty much got carried on Mythic Butcher. I died at 3:48, but even before that my damage was crap. (Also forgot to take Dampen Harm)
I thought I was using TeB well, saving it for FoFs and for when I used my Coin. I messed up one channel of FoF, but I can't think of much else I messed up over the course of the fight. =/

His agility potion, xuen and 2nd use of trinket (you only get the use on pull and another after that on Butcher) are completely off.... Those should be lined up around 3 minute mark.

Only uses Dampen Harm 2 times, should be using 3 times.

Did not use Transcendence to maximize DPS uptime on boss.

Tiger power fell in the end (way before he died)

Did not use TEB on the opener FoF.

Wasted in total 2 chi, one with Jab and one with Chi Brew.

3 casts of serenity, only refunded 47 chi, should be much over 50, perfectly at 60.

Missed 5 energy with Energizing Brew due to energy capping.

In general being very close to energy cap/reaching cap for short periods. Not spending everything all the time is good, but you can't let yourself cap (except for serenity because it is in the nature of the ability).

Could have cast RSK ~12 times more than he did.

Needs to line TEB better with trinket procs.

Hi guys Im still pretty new to WW and we progressed on Butcher Mythic tonight. Could you check spesifically my opener what do I do wrong, feels like some pulls I peaked like 60-70k dps and some pulls I messed up a bit and was mid 40k. Feels like if you dont proc few TEB and dont get 10 stack on ur opener it really fucks me up.

Based on your last wipe, where you did 27k DPS

    - Super low Tiger Power uptime at 79%. You should be > 98%, if not 100%.
    - You didn't line up your trinket usage with FoF during the fight - you used it at 2m40s, and didn't FoF again until 3m03s (buff had expired)
    - 6/9 FoF casts
    - Only 89% RSK uptime - should be > 98% (you can be forgiven for a slight drop surrounding Bounding)
    - 20/29 RSK's (hence the uptime problem)
    - No Expel Harm usage - you should be able to weave in a few for extra damage when you're < 90% HP due to cleave
    - Energy capped a few times - notably 11s near the start of the fight

I looked at your buff uptimes and your casts, and divided ((fight length) / (cooldown) - (actual casts * cooldown)) to determine how many casts you fell short by.

So i literally just made an account simply so i could ask this question and i pray im posting it in the right thread.

my ilvl is 664 and i just feel like im doing something wrong.

i played monk all last expansion and i feel fine with my dps on most fights just with kargath and imperator it feels so low, imp i can barely pull 21k and kargath barely pulling like 22k, i know i need to replace some of my mastery with multistrike but is there any tips i could maybe have? to help me fix my dps

Hey, I'm looking for some good tips for my guildmate BrM, both tanks looks underperfomance and stressing healers in this fight (butcher).
    Ty.
Shuffle uptime: 75% <- needs to be ~100%

    casts:
Kegsmash: 12 of 32 ... yea... gotta work on that...
Serenity 2 of 3 always use it on cd and spam blackout kick. more uptime on shuffle while more chi to spend on purifying.
rushing jade wind 10 of 0 ... seriously? in a single target fight?

looking at a 3:56 kill from my guild i did 48 BoK and 61 Purifying brew.
Your guy needs to work on his chi management

Post logs and armory. Almost impossible to help you. Otherwise read all the other advice in this thread and take it to heart.

    Some points:
    - FoF usage is not ideal. I cut out the time you were dead, and came to one FoF every ~33 sek. More should be possible.
    - You could use your first ToK earlier, so you'd have it ready one more time in the sub-30% phase, which could in combination with a FB increase your DPS by a little, and probably keep you alive better.
    - EB was used only two times in a fight of almost 4 min. Probably due to the BL at pull, but I think there should have been a possibility to use it somewhere in between and get some more BoKs out.
    - RSK every ~10 sek: I think it's OK, but probably there could have been some casts more.
    - Don't know where I can look it up in the logs if you did it or not: You can use Transcendence to teleport back to the boss after the knockback, giving you ~2-3 sek more uptime everytime he uses it. At least that's possible in nh/hc, don't know about mythic.
Those were the things I saw while glancing over your log. There are probably other things, but that's for better players to see / analyze. Probably I just gave bad advice because the boss has something on mythic which reduces melee uptime I don't know (yet).

I need your help, Total, Salty, or whomever can give good insight. I've been playing monk for quite some time and in SoO was performing well. However, since after the initial changes in WoD I've been struggling. Compared to my raid group I'm on lowest ilvl end but my percentiles are low so would like insight. I'll add that I just got Scales Sat 1/17. and though it shows I haven't had time to really set things up to maximize it as I had a 630 on use trinket.

Windwalker, I'd appreciate all the input from as many as possible to help with any and all bosses. Kor'agh and Imp are the ones I've had the most issues with but any advice on all would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
