Did you rebind your movement keys to wasd?

Coming from a counterstrike background, I was appalled by A = TURN left and D = TURN right. Immediately rebound to strafe. And rebound the default strafe (q,e) to abilities

I use the A/D+right mouse button to strafe. I, personally, find it better.

there's no reason to have turning bound, unless you're playing with a handicap

Q and E are strafe and it works fine. WoW isn't an FPS and I personally don't think it needs to play like one.

I rebound Q and E for abilities, and use WASD to move

Oh yes first thing I do whenever a game stupidly has turn instead of strafe on A and D.

I rebind strafe to Q and E in every other game instead.

Exactly. Q and E are some of the most accessible keys that I would never waste on turn/strafe.

I rebound A + D in WoW and strafe with Q+E, I usually rebind A+D on FPS and bind Q+E to strafe instead.

    feels better imo

Yup, keyboard turning is inferior, why even use valuable slots on them?

This exactly. You can rebind Q + E and also be able to cover turning and strafing on demand so its somewhat a "win-win" =P

haha at all the people using wasd instead of the much superior esdf

Rebound to esdf, which gives me more keys in range for keybind, and makes it easier to find the home keys if I move my hand. (And s/f are strafes. In the very rare case I want to keyboard turn, the arrow keys are still the default bindings for that.)

Same here, but mostly mouse+A/D to strafe/change direction when needed.

    Nothing stupid about it.
Just suited to a lower entry point, people who aren't you.
That's what the keybind options are for.

As with any keybinding, results may vary.
Some people aren't going to be good at mouse turning.
This mindless "keybinding is better" or "mouseturning is better" for everyone needs to stop.
It CAN be better, but not for everyone often due to the physical dexterity requirements.

Advise people on how to go about it, and tell them what advantages it may offer them.

I like the feel of that, I think I will consider it for a bit.

You are running around corners in PvP, but you need to see what's going on behind you as you do so. How do you turn while also turning your camera to look around?

Keyboard turning isn't ideal for your regular movement, but not having it at all is the handicap. I strafe with Z and C, and still maintain the ability to turn with A and D, so that I can continue moving in any and all directions while also still being able to observe all directions.

You use the mouse? There is NO situation where keyboard turning is better than mouse.
