    [Movie ]It (Remake)

    http://variety.com/2015/film/news/wi...ke-1201446495/

That's some big shoes to fill. I've read the book many times and Tim Curry was just about perfect in the roll. There's a fine line between menacing and caricature!

They are making this into TWO movies, and I'm willing to bet they'll STILL not put the original plot in that the girl screws all the young boys right before they face the big evil at the end, cause no way would they ever get that one through the ratings office. Which is kinda sad cause it's integral to the story and reason they beat "It".

It wasn't a film to begin with, it was a TV mini series, so "remake" doesn't even apply to this. This is the first Film Adaptation of the story.

I'm hoping that they'll be careful with this adaption and not turn it into a gorefest aimed at teens. I've read the book many times, and it isn't PG-13 material; in fact, there's one particular scene that couldn't be shown, at least not in America. There's a heavy "Stand By Me" theme to the story, and I hope that's where the filmmakers put their focus.

a remake would be horrible. it would be 99% cgi bang and flash, and would completely overshadow a great story.

find a new story, stop remaking everything.

Its not a remake since the original was a made for tv mini series, not a movie.

Both attempts at making a movie out of a 1,000+ book were crap. This third attempt will reach no higher. You cannot visually envelope some of the best fiction to ever hit a printing press. Half the book is about imagination, which is impossible to quantify in a movie.

Yes i agree. The reason It is one of my favorit King books is not only because of the thrilling horror part of the book - but the comming of age theme where King describes the childhood of a group of geeks, is so vivid. He is really good at rewoking the feelings of being a kid - going home a freezing winther afternoon after a few hours of homework on a empty library and seing strange things in the blue hours before sundown. He is a master of suspense ofcourse, but the reason it work so well is that the he can describe the scenes so they become credible, even with mummies, wherewolfs or killer clowns as part of them.
