    [Megathread] Dark Souls 3

    http://www.playstationtrophies.org/n...---Report.html
Bandai Namco is reportedly set to announce Dark Souls III at E3, according to a source close to the game. Once again, Dark Souls maestro Hidetaka Miyazaki will be heading up development of the third game, having previously served as Director on the first Dark Souls, Demon's Souls and Bloodborne.

Miyazaki had a supervisory role on Dark Souls II, which was directed by Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura. Dark Souls II was of course re-released recently for PS4 and Xbox One, with the Scholar of the First Sin suffix. Bloodborne, meanwhile, was released exclusively for PS4.

So, if you're up for more death and hard as nails hack n' slash, Dark Souls 3 could well be on the cards, providing VG247's sources prove to be legitimate. We'll have more on Dark Souls 3 as it breaks.
Can't wait to hear more about DS3. Miyazaki has done amazing work with Blood Borne can't wait to see how DS3 will be compared to the other titles.

So what do you guys think. Are you hyped for it or do you feel its too soon.

I tried Dark Souls 1 once, and had a lot of problems with my controller and graphic options, the game seemed kinda clunky. I'll try it again soon to see if I get to like it, seems like people love the game.

Ehhhhh. It is going to get to a point soon where these "rare" Demon's Soul like games are going to get oversaturated.

Good chance it will since DSII sold like crazy on PC.

I agree and it kinda is a bit. But I wouldn't mind a DSIII right now. Just hope it isn't like a yearly thing. If this annoucement stays true that means I got DSIII and the Blood Borne xpac to do later in the year/start of next year.

You could use DSfix and see if u get Dark Souls working on PC better. But ya DS1 ran like ass on most pc's. DS2 on the other hand was done really well. I think the only problem was KB&M use.

Oh boy I am sure it will literally be the exact same game as Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, and Bloodborne. No Risks. No quality PC Porting. More lies about the Graphics and PC Porting. More awful engines that have horrible lag during specific particle effects. I am so glad Namco and FROM are working so hard to make sure there games are the best ever made and so "super duper hard xD."

Seriously though, I have literally no desire to play it.

Oh man...just when I thought I might be done traversing the white fog...

Seriously though, I am hoping they combine the boss and level design of DS1 with the gameplay and mechanics of DS2. Afterall, DS1 had AMAZING levels that linked up in the most fascinating ways (I enjoy the term "shortcut porn" phrased by SBF) and their bosses were the first bosses in a long time that legitimately freaked me out to the point of being frozen in awe (looking at you Gaping Dragon). But gameplay in DS2 was so far improved its not even funny. I feel DS2 was the inferior of the 2 games, but much prefer playing DS2 because it handles a lot better and I feel has more viable "fun" builds.

What will be interesting is if we see any mechanics from Bloodborne bleed over (pun intended) to DS3. I wouldn't mind a recovery system that's for sure.

I still have a bad habbit of trying to hit stuff for health in DS2 thanks to Bloodborne lol.

Bloodborne was a slight breath of fresh air to the series but yea, starting to get to the point of over saturation.

I would like to see Miyazaki and From try their hands at something new and original. It worked with Demons Souls. At this point they're almost turning into a AC or CoD factory.

Will still buy of course, but if this is the future of From, then it's going downhill from here boys...

As long as it is directed by miyazaki i'll call it dark souls 2
Cod has a new campaign, new weapons, new multiplayer levels every year. Zelda has been recycling the same weapons, villains, and dungeons since the 80's. Zelda recycles enough to make cod blush. The same weapons, villains, dungeons, and princess in every single Zelda for the most part. It's almost as cheesy as bowser vs Mario round 35

I wouldn't hold my breath that he fully directed either. Seeing as it's likely a 2016 release which means it probably started development right around when DS2 was finished, when he was still neck deep in Bloodborne.

They will likely just announce that there is such game. Remember how they did that with DS2 and shown gameplay half a year later.

I hope they will actually have a playable PC version this time!

I also wonder if they will pick up the innovations that Salt & Sanctuary and Lords of the Fallen brought to the genre, primarily the empowerment of nearby monster when they absorb your dropped souls and the loot multiplier that increases multiplicatively as you go further and further without resting at a bonfire/saving your game.

Dark Souls 3? Huh, oh wait its called Bloodborne, its already out. No reason to announce a new souls game (or just too early).

Bloodborne is of very different style. If it had not taken place so far away in the future it might've been considered an altogether different IP. Also, it is relatively unconnected with the overarching plot of DS1 and 2, so calling it a 3 is not appropriate.

Man I am super excited for this ! I can't wait if it's truly Dark Souls 3 !!! but there is a possibility that it might be a new Kings Field because this game is the godfather of the souls series after all.

I would rather it be a new IP, in a new genre. From is going to burn out quick if they start releasing an action rpg every single year. Before Souls, From was a very versatile developer, I hate to see them turn into a one tick pony.
