The card in the bottom slot is just a spdif bracket feeding off the onboard sound. I also purchased a usb3 header to female type A adapter so that I no longer have to run the usb3 front panel connector out the back on my case.
I really wanted to get a 6700k and the D14 cooler but my asrock z77 board was giving me lots of problems so I had to order the final pieces ahead of schedule.

Not much of a hardware change but more of desk update, I'm sure there was a thread on just show your desktop however can't seem to find it if there was one.

    Old desk setup;

    Setting up the new one;

Quite happy with the new desk, looking into a new speak amp next year after my trip to japan but the this looks better and has more usable space with that extending section of the desk and the awesome cable trunking thats part of the structure for cable management.

Desk is Ikea malm with pullout.

    I like how that looks!

Every time I see someone post with an IKEA desk it makes me want to go there more... we have a HUGE IKEA store nearby, actually.

In fact, it's the one WOWCrendor loves going to...

I've tried chatting with Crendor, but he's honestly not one to reach out in response to fans much at all. I've gotten a word or two with him and he liked one of my video responses to one of his Q&A videos a few years back, he posted a smiley face... =/

"Fishing with DeltrusDisc's dreams" more like. :P

That monitor is the AOC Q2963PM, its 2560x1080 and was one of the few 21:9 monitors out before this year, got that well before any of the 3440x1440 monitors, think I've had it like for year and a half now at least.

Lol well this desk was perfect to me, cable management built into the structure which is awesome and the extending sectioning which oddly enough was my requirement for a desk plus no wobble, the cable management part was a huge bonus.

You should just stalk Wowcrender and have a impromptu interview at Ikea.

New stuff ready to be mounted once my new case arrives

Neat stuff. Will be nice to see the finished build.

My god the box for that D15 is HUGE :O
If you must insist on using a non-sanctioned sitting apparatus, please consider the tensile strength
of the materials present in the object in question in comparison to your own mass volumetric density.

In other words, stop breaking shit with your fat ass.

    That's what she said!

Seriously though, when a cooler has 150mm fans on it, and has a total volume when assembled of something like 2 litres, it needs a big box

Do hope you do graphical shit on your PC otherwise this setup is overkill and waste of cash.

    CASE:
be quiet! SILENT BASE 800 (orange with window)

UPGRADES IN CASE (I like my PC quiet with good air flow and minimum dust. I decided to go for Be Quiet series over Noctua since it does job that's needed. Its true however that Noctua NF-F12 win in performance vs all)
Rear fan: replaced with 120mm SILENT WINGS 2(Be Quiet!)
    Rear fan filter: 120mm silverstone
Top fan: 1x 140mm SILENT WINGS 2 (Be Quiet!)
Bottom fan: 1x 120mm SILENT WINGS 2 Be Quiet!)

    Motherboard
    Msi Z97 Gaming 5

    CPU
    Core i7-4790K
Cooler: DARK ROCK PRO 3 (possible future replacement with NH-D15)

    GPU
    Msi GTX 970

    RAM
2x8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport XT DDR3

Mouse... Razer Imperator & Razor Naga (swap depending on game)
    Keyboard... Corsair Gaming K70 RGB

People keep saying that, but honestly it's really not true. Even at 1080p that stuff just sets him in a good position for the future.
Over 1080p it's not overkill at all. Not even now.

  15. #14795
Could we just do without people saying stuff is a waste of money, etc, etc? This isn't really the thread to be a random dick to strangers imo. z_z This is just a thread for stating what you've got, if anyone is looking for build help the recommendation will always to make a thread.

I quote Cyanotical from several years back...

"What do we need? None of this. Certainly no gaming computers."

What do we need to LIVE? If you have that, then good. You're lucky and doing well. Feel free to do with your excess money as you will, no one needs a computer to live, although in today's society it certainly is an expectation. ripperslo, go away if you're going to bring that negativity in here.

Besides, there's a ton of things that are far worse than a $4k computer... say for instance a Rolls Royce. Or a mansion for a family of four with their pet dog. /rollseyes

Recently built a new gaming rig, some quick specs:

    CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240M Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB DDR4-2133
    Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SSD
Storage: WD Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" HDD
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB Twin Frozr GPU
    Case: NZXT Noctis 450
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I love how sleek and elegant the case looks

The upside down CoolerMaster logo kind of hurts my OCD but if I turned it around the tubes would be at a weird angle and wouldn't look too nice and if i flipped the radiator the pipes would be blocking the fan. Pretty happy with the cable management. (you don't see that cable in the drive bays with the side panel on xD)

And finally, my complete setup. Razer Naga mouse, Razer black widow keyboard, Razer Tiamat headset (I went through a razer fanboy phase a few years ago :P) 27" and 21.5" 1080p LG monitors, hoping to upgrade to 1440p when the budget allows. The chair is just a cheap $95 desk chair from Ikea, the speakers aren't anything fancy either, they're Sony and I got them on sale, can't recall the model name. Pretty happy with the setup at the moment, nothing too fancy but it does what it needs to

Nicely hidden cable management. Well done.

    Hello,

New and slightly confused member here. Did you mix up your photo upload, or am I missing something here? That motherboard looks like the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming that I have been eyeing recently, which means your CPU wouldn't fit. Additionally, if this is the Z170 MB, then the (non-red) RAM modules are not optimally located in their slots. With two modules I'd think you should have then empty-fill-empty-fill, counted from the CPU socket, to enable proper dual channel operation.
