It's a nice look, but IMHO totally inappropriate for paladins.

Nice.Lots of new transmog achievements, including the new title rewarded by Fabulous: %s the Fabulous.
Go out and collect plate! Use the most boring time of an expac to hoard xmog pieces.
Wow, I've wanted that title in the game for such a long time! Crazy to think it'll actually happen, and it's seemingly pretty easy to get. Well... Easy for a vain hoarder like myself. I've got way more than 25 items for each slot lying around on all my characters.
That's simply not true.
"After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, the princes of Europe and the Roman Catholic Church adapted red as a color of majesty and authority. It also played an important part in the rituals of the Catholic Church - it symbolized the blood of Christ and the Christian martyrs - and it associated the power of the kings with the sacred rituals of the Church" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red#In_the_Middle_Ages
Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann
Yes, but Warcraft doesn't have any "blood of Christ" equivalent. If anything, the colours of the Holy Light are going to be white and gold, not red.
As far as the Alliance goes, red has historically been used for Stromgarde (and maybe Arathor way back when), and that's about it. Orange is the colour of Alterac (ie traitors), but purple is the colour of Dalaran (mages and a major trading hub). Red is also associated with the Scarlet Crusade and its more extreme members before it was founded (eg Dathrohan).
On the other hand, blue has been used in the flags of Lordaeron, Stormwind and Quel'thalas (back before they turned their back on the Alliance), ever since Warcraft 1. I also can't think of much in the way of negative associations (ie Scarlet Crusade, Quel'thalas repainting the blue to red when they broke with the Alliance, red as the Horde's colour, etc).

IRL, ever since the 1200's, blue has been used to imply regal and aristocratic power ("blue-blooded", Tory colours) and such. It's also associated with faithfulness and loyalty, excellence, distinction, infinity, etc. Whilst it's true that in the USA "blue collar" workers are working class ones, but I guess the USA is just odd like that :P .
For purple, someone "born in the purple" is someone born into privilege in the Byzantine Empire, and a purple patch means success or good luck. It's also strongly associated with the top people in the Roman Republic and Empire.
Red is associated with passion, blood, anger & hate, beauty, danger... think about how many poisonous things are coloured red or have red highlights. Obviously a lot of these things work very well with other martial themes too.

Final thoughts... I'm reminded of the end of the Pandaren starting zone, when the choice is between (briefly paraphrasing here) rash actions (Horde) and thoughtful deliberation (Alliance). If I as a noble want a colour scheme*, I won't pick the colour of (a) the enemy (Horde), (b) traitors (Quel'thalas), (c) passion, anger and danger. I'll pick the colour of (a) loyalty, (b) my nation (maybe), (c) royalty / aristocracy, and excellence.
*That isn't black/grey for seriousness, or white/gold for religious reasons.

Feel free to invert my reasoning if you're a blood elf paladin seeking a nobleman** transmog of course .
**Nobletauren just doesn't work. It just doesn't. Sorry.
With any luck, the Flowing Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade will look like the fancy one. At the moment it seems like it just has placeholder art.
Well that's because we could easily grow things to make blue dye locally without the India Company whining about it and having the royals ship the "counterfeiters" off to some moldy dungeon, so indigo ink didn't hold its value here. Denim, the standard by which working-class fabrics are measured, is traditionally blue.
OMG 13:37 - Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Cleave unto me, and I shall grant to thee the blessing of eternal salvation."
And His disciples said unto Him, "Can we get Kings instead?"
Blue continued to be associated with those things both before and after trade with the East Indies was opened up by European companies though, so I don't see how that has any relevance.
Like I said, yes blue-collar workers etc are working class ones, but remember also that red is the colour of the working class in most of the world, thanks to the efforts of the trade unions and socialists of the 19th and 20th Centuries.]
Regardless of that however, I'm not sure there's any real working class movement in the Alliance, let alone denim producers. I mean, I suppose you had the Defias in Stormwind, but their colour was also red.
Since BC I don't think I've worn any tabard but the one from the Shattered Sun. It's not too difficult to find a t-mog that works around it, but it's my favourite. I think my current is the best bet though. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...acens/advanced Not that you can see it, because the Bulwork decided to just tell me to sod off.
i like bullwark

That's how my Paladin in Legion will look like.
Say hello to the Scarlet Highlord of the Silver Hand!
