Building weapons props from wow

I havea mate who likes to make some weapon props in his spare time, he threw this together in an hour, he asked if I had any ideas and I said gorehowl, it's not an exact copy, just loosely based on it, anyone else make any weapon props?

I've thought about it, to get my kid into something educational and game related, but he really hates anything larp-related. I don't think he would get into it unless it was like a Tardis cabinet, or similar type "prop".

I myself have always wanted to try blacksmithing.

try actually smithing a blade and then woodcarve a handle for it.
start with something small.
when it's done make a leather sheet to store it in.

lol, funny enough I'm just about to start blacksmithing, same mate helped me throw a wee forge together the other night, just on the hunt for an anvil at the moment.
