There's a thin line between a joke and an insult. The" joke teller" is responsible for what comes out of their mouth. It's the difference between looking like Louis CK or looking like an asshole.

And as we discussed earlier words are worse than murder. Nobody should ever have to feel uncomfortable. It's like getting raped by man penises, but inside your brain where you can't do anything about it.

This man is brave for speaking out (unless he's white and cisgendered of course).

Starbucks apologizes after barista’s diabetes joke irks customer

A Florida man is steaming mad at Starbucks for serving his sugar-laden espresso drink with a label reading, “”DIABETES HERE I COME.”

The customer found the tag on the Grande White Chocolate Mocha he ordered Friday from a branch of the coffee chain in St. Augustine, Florida, ABC news reported.

But the beans-for-brains barista apparently had no clue that the man had a family history of the illness — so the joke fell flatter than a bad cappuccino, according to the station.

“2 of my sisters are diabetic, so…not funny,” the man, who asked not to be named, shared on Facebook.

The large version of the drink contains 59 grams of sugar — more than double the amount contained in two regular-sized Snickers bars.

Starbucks SBUX, -3.53% was quick to apologize on Monday.

“Starbucks strives to provide an inclusive and positive experience for our customers, and were disappointed to learn of this incident. We are working directly with the customer to apologize for his experience, and with our partners (employees) to ensure this does not happen again,” a company rep told the network.
Thats' a lot of freaking sugar for a coffe. You should probably not drink that regularly.

That's victim blaming. An amount of sugar equivalent to nearly 20 feet of sugar cane should know that just because a human is ingesting it in one sitting doesn't mean they consent to the related health issues.

The odd thing here is that not a single person in the story was shot or had their face eaten off. It's unsettling to see a Florida story that is so relatively tame.

Oh, until I googled more on the story, and came across this one as a top result:

"FloridaMan who issued an Attack Ad against Starbucks Barista, turns out to be Snake-wearing-a-man-suit."

gotta love when people attach connotations to insults. learn to not care helps a ton, and keeps your body/mind away from stress which in turn makes you healthier! the internet is a good place to start training that life style, i prefer you start easy tho, something like youtube comments.

When a bully doesn't get a response he feels dumb afterwards, and you feel better because you know he feels dumb inside.

so a joke has been taken too seriously - such news much incredible wow

This is the problem with fat people. They think THEY'RE RIGHT. No bitch you're FAT, and you're drinking a mocha with 59g of sugar which is more than twice as much of sugar you should be having in a day. Instead of demeaning the barista for basically being right, maybe we should demean fat people for their lifelong lifestyle of horrible choices because they have no self control.

We should encourage fat people to get fit and eat right not supporting their horrible living.

The joke was in bade taste, sure. But I'd rather not live in a world like the quote below:

Humans still operate in 99% of the customer service related industry, not robots. Society could improve with little thicker set of skin.

Family history of diabetes, and this idiot is ordering a massive sugar spike? Barista jokes are going to be the least of his worries.

Not that I agree with the Barista's approach...the commentary is technically accurate, but there is no reason for the commentary.

You were faster than me. This guy is just plain stupid. He will certainly be offended again once his doctor will tell him "GG you finally got diabete too. Starbucks did you well"...

That's...the most retarded thing I've ever heard to get insulted over.

Okay, maybe just today. But still.

I'm getting so fucking tired of how overly sensitive people are getting. My family has a history of da beetus, I might actually either have it or am borderline myself, but I would've just chuckled at this, because it's fucking true. There's enough sugar in those things to tip the scales on anyone close to getting diabetes. How do you get offended at that? You drink that much fucking sugar, you better get ready for the jokes.

Pretty much. If there had been any extra pumps of white choc ordered, then fair game that stuff is basically sugar syrup. But if it was an "off-the-peg" order, then this was poorly judged
