One is not beholden to you. They're doing you a favor. It is their money. Their time. All for you. The other is a business that is aiming to please you in order to claim your time and money. I do think it is a bit silly to harp on every misstep and desire undelivered myself but I still just had to point out at just how bad that comparison was.

Its in the alpha... how long do you think we have to wait to make a judgement call on it? The ones released have scenarios tied to them already. At what point can we be free to express we don't like something in your opinion? beta? Live? Post expac?

Clearly a difference between discussing something objectively and giving constructive criticism and then doing what many people here are doing ...

Then they give you a stuffed cat toy and expect you to be happy and you are the sister that is rolling her eyes when you are sad and say "you are so dumb for believing the cat would be real!". A few minutes later the same sister will be excited and tell you that dad said she will get a car when she has good grades this year! Now you say "don't believe everything they say, they will let you down" and she will reply: "they should be able to discuss potential plans without you being hateful and ridiculous".

You know, I think your shitty and 'higher-than-thou' attitude is what put me into a rage versus the actual game itself. People like you do not help these sorts of situations, AT ALL. You're not being objective but instead taking on the role of an attack dog. You're pitting yourself against others in the name objectivity yet fail to be objective yourself. So not only do you look irrational and voracious in your irrationality but also hypocritical. You go for the throat like you're really just in the thick of it when ironically, you've seen firsthand how an over abundance of optimism and a lack of scrutiny can end with bad results.

You can curb peoples' negativity without feeding it, the latter of which is all you're managing to do.

The OP has done a much better job of that. Ion has done a much better job of that. There are people trying to keep the negativity and uncertainty in check; though all the while, you're in the backlines simply going hog-wild and being so insulting that I'm surprised you haven't been hit with any infractions at this juncture. You need to stop. Much like I did and take a deep breath, step away for a while, and rethink your approach. What you're doing right now isn't helping Blizzard. It isn't helping WoW. You're accomplishing quite the opposite.

The problem I have is that it's not described how optional this content is. If using this method is even 25% more efficient than another method, than players may feel pressured to use it. It then becomes the defacto method to complete the content even if there are other methods since I think most people would rather do things efficiently.

I'll be honest: I began to channel my inner Ethan Klein while watching streamers fuck around with their Command Tables. I fucking hated everything there is about Garrisons and Shipyards and the fact that Blizzard even thought for a millisecond that it was okay to resurrect this abortion of an idea is pretty insulting given how almost completely negative the reception to it has been.

Completely for the sake of argument: Let's say you make a game. We'll call it Lazer Turkeys from Outer Space. Your game is met with generally okay reception except for the fact that you required every single person who played your game to register their e-mail on a website which subscribed them to furry porn. By some grace of the Gods, the studio who financed your game thought your game did well enough to warrant a sequel. You make the sequel and you still have the same exact requirement -- with a caveat; it's now optional since you can do a quest at the beginning of the game and can instead spend 30 minutes of your time to avoid having to load your mailbox with pictures of anthropomorphic cats fucking.

That's still 30 minutes of my life I'd like back.

Well this was a clusterfuck of a post. Blizzard mentioned once that they had an idea for something possible. You took it as some sort of blood oath and are butthurt you didn't get it. I don't think it's about a gowehowl legendary. I think it's about feeling like, time after time, being told one thing and getting another(or lack thereof). They feel like Blizzard talks a big game but tends to under deliver or if they do, it's some sort of mutated monster of what they had stated it'd be. So they're taking this history of missteps in communication and holding it against them post-WoD.
