He most likely had them on a cycle so only 3-4 plants were being pulled at the same time. Depending on the size of the plants he could be getting less than an ounce per plant.

Standing up for your rights can be done in a lot of different ways, more reasonable ways and in ways that people might actually want to hear you out, stocking up on extra weed, having gay orgies, or kidnapping your neighbours kids because they don't treat them well isn't the way. While a life sentence is totally unreasonable, 36 plants doesn't sound to me like "for his own medicinal use."

36 plants set between an average growing cycle would be enough (strain and growth depending) to make roughly 13.5 ounces every 4 months. I know people that use that much in a -month- for personal pain (or the creation of edibles/cannabutter and the storage of it for future dates.)

Sure it's possible for him to have a side business, selling the excess. But it's also equally possible that a 75 year old man that is in excruciating looking for a nigh harmless herbal substance to treat something modern medicine can only treat with addictive, man made chemicals.

Nobody is telling anyone to be calm about it, you can be loud, and convincing, without actually breaking the law, how did slavery stop, did the protestors just kidnap the slaves, did that end it? What about the law against homosexuality, did they have a same sex cumfest outside? Because it -should not- have ever been illegal. Every single scientific study done about MJ has proven that it is less harmful than both tabacco and alcohol to the human body. Every single voter that has ever voted for the criminalisation of MJ has been misinformed by heresay and moronic nonsense.
