I've already posted various favorites in other threads. Here's something different, hand pulled noodles.
Knife shaved noodles are also a favorite of mine.
Even if our robot masters may be about to replace guys like the one shown above.
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.

Of course. As Vimes was told, you understand that when you are served an eye you must be able to eat it with aplomb, right?Originally Posted by Arafal123

Canada is at a disadvantage due to being young (for a country).
BC/Alaska has the best salmon, but we can't exactly take credit for Salmon.
Alberta has world class steak, but they can't claim steak.
I feel like I need to help Canada get a more distinct dish.
Maybe if I like... shoved a couple salmon into a cows butt, and then smoked the whole thing?

Whale meat. Simply lovely, and we have a local (or family tradition) of having the meat served with macaroni and chopped carrots & onion. Stirred nicely (meat & vegetable) in a frying pan and use the broth/fat from the frying pan, mix it all of it in a saucepan and boil it for 10-15 mins, and emptying the water and take portions on a plate and serve.
Absolutely lovely. The image below shows the meat used, although this seems to be a South-Western traditional variant from what I typically eat up here, in the cold, cold, cold North.
Hmmm:
1. I think we start with a cow,
2. drain it of all its blood,
3. inject its veins full of maple syrup like the animal corpses at BodyWorlds,
4. pump pureed salmon up its butt (a Scottish homage),
5. wrap the entire cow in a layer of bacon,
6. smoke the whole thing (in traditional First Nations fashion),
7. then serve it with Quebecois cheese curds (French homage),
8. and gravy.
There, we have invented a uniquely Canadian delicacy

For a second there you made me wonder if you're from Romania since sarmale are also something we have here as a traditional food and it looks the same:
We also have mamaliga:
And mici:
And coliva (this is only used for remembering the dead occasions though, kind of like alms for the dead):
Boeuf Salad(that's mayo on it, the second picture is the filling):
Mucenici moldovenesti:
Mucenici muntenesti:
Note that not all of these foods are traditional Romanian fully, some are Balkan or in the area.

No, no no. Do it the other way around. Shove a moose into a fish and cook it with maple syrup or something. That just screams Canada to me.
