Someone on Reddit earlier posted about this in a thread and made a pretty funny (yet probably true) statement about this. This guy in particular talking about this topic is something that the higher ups would be sending to each other in an email with a "LOL XD" typed as a subject header. Even if there is a market for it, taking anything this man says seriously is terrifying for a company.

He worked on Wow during its incredibly successful early stages, which is the point here.

His "visions" have cost hundreds of people jobs and an entire collapse. Even as close as in last december they had mailed their employees saying "Sorry, we don't have money to pay you because we fucked up so bad" They are STILL suffering for what he did to them even after he was forced to step down 3 years ago.

That's not the kind of person anyone with any sane rational would want running or advocating anything.

Sadly true though, Blizzard isn;t just WoW, people forget this. Also, the Warcraft franchise is doing pretty damn strongly with all honesty. What they might lose in subs, they have made back well over in licencing, merchandise and other such things. Let alone a strong history in creating amazing IPs, and a lot of amazing games and other franchises to utilise.

It's just hard for people to grasp that for the past few years WoW hasn't been their main focus nor their biggest source of income. It's a big change, but it's been the reality for a while now. It's still going strong as you said, but it's for sure not their main focus anymore.
