Have you tried to use proxies, some websites use pretty shady tactics to get more out of people who regularly book the same destinations. Also always check urlaubsguru and similar sites. 400 seems way too much. I just did a search for vie - sto for a weekend in june and it´s 198€ round trip.

I usually book directly on Austrian because I tend to want Economy Classic for Check-in luggage or even Flex on the way back in case I want to change dates. Which of course also adds to the price.
Also, another thing is that Vie - Stock is a lot cheaper than INN - GÖT per se, because it's a lot shorter as well as a non-stop flight, while I/we have to change planes etc.

But yeah, you are right of course.

I am jealous of the Vienna - Stockholm connection now. Non-stop flights are so much nicer than those with layovers, especially if you have to choose between 45 min (which is too short in Frankfurt) and 3:45. :<
