I finally saw this movie on saturday. Someone behind me was crying during the superman funeral, while I struggled to keep myself from laughing at the Amish style procession.

My girls daughters started crying it was kinda sad. We all knew he was coming back but I got misty eyed when groot died as well even though I knew his shtick. It's funny groot dieing and coming back made sense and didn't anger me. The superman death and then resurrection tease pissed me off.

There was way too much funeral for a guy who was clearly going to come back.

Why didn't Batman pierce him in the side with the lance to make sure he was really dead?
That would have been thematically appropriate, I think.

And they STILL don't know Clark is Superman.

Dude seriously. The racoon crying... and then we are groot.. dawg it was too much... that moment was near perfect for a death scene right down to the musical score playing.

    Finally saw it yesterday.

Actually enjoyed it much more than I was anticipating. Was a slow start but I enjoyed the last 1/2 to 1/3 of the movie. Was pretty solid.

I did really like that they showed Darkseids Omega Symbol and the Parademons in it as foreshadowing.

So who is the big dark thing that's coming to get us all?

Darkseid. One of the most iconic DC villains.

I could hear a kid crying when I saw the movie too during this scene. As it was so obvious he is coming back, I felt more annoyed by it than anything. It would have been much better to have the three of them get together over dinner at Wayne's house, then cut to credits, then have a post credit scenes of them viewing Luthor's justice league file.

However I would watch the 4 hour cut, just in the hopes that the jumbled mess this movie is makes sense with more footage. I do hope this movie causes WB to reign in Snyder, or at least put someone in the mix that is a voice of reason.

Zack Snyder's next movie - the Justice League will face the impossible task of sitting through a film with every single bit of color, joy, wit or appropriate (or even worthwhile) characterization ripped out of it. At then end of the film, after watching the film, the whole Justice League commits suicide. (After its release, WB will immediately greenlightsa Zack Snyder run trilogy that consists of nothing but a young Bruce Wayne murdering his parents, and Nazi Superman helping Hitler conquer the world for 9 hours. All shot in a new ultra-high tech monochrome that really makes edges stand out.)

Nah he'll be one of the villains from a movie that leads to Justice League and have an army of faceless nobodies.

Amd ofcourse with extra lens flare. You can't have enough lens flare in a movie.

Best post I've seen about this movie, ever. But now that it has been presented in a public space, I fear the day they find your post and do every last bit of it.

He'll probably look like Thanos, I expect a lot of people with no knowledge of the comics claiming that DC are ripping off Marvel.

For me, I find that if its not Michael Ironside's voice then it isn't Darkseid. I remember watching Batman/Superman Apocalypse and while the dialogue was spot on, Darkseid just seemed so off.

So the Flash director has left the film, citing creative differences. (source)
First comment sums up the likely scenario quite humorously:
“I want to make it fun, joyful, and funny.”

    “You’re fired.”
On a serious note, it seems that DC is jumping down the other director's throats for Snyder's failures, as now the Aquaman movie looks doubtful with Wan. (source)

For all the bravado, it seems like the negative criticism did hit home. Hopefully they can lay off the directors trying to make a better movie than Snyder did.
