How do you feel about this?
Is there enough control on these cable shows?
I'm more curious how you feel about it.
Because it seems, whenever you are not banned, you spend your day. Spamming threads with endless copypasted articles, without any input of your own.

So, how do you feel about it?

Throat slitting, beheading and crushing a skull with bare hands is fine though.

yes we totally live in a rape culture that normalizes violence against women

When did I say the brothel scenes where rape culture? They were just silly fanservice scenes. Looking back those where the good old days.

The thing I find funny is that people shout till they are blue about how badly women are treated in the show (I think Brienne of Tarth is kicking some ass lol) yet you never hear them say anything about the show's female on male rape scene.

That's rape apology plain and simple and I really wish the most popular show on television wasn't setting that example.
Where you're getting from the part that marital rape is seen as bad thing in Westeros? The closest examples would be Tyrion not wanting to have sex with Sansa, which isn't really met with a lot of understanding from others, and Jaime's (I think) memories about Mad King's times when he had rough sex with his wife and one of the royal guards said something about how they're supposed to guard her to, and other replied "but not from him". And the issue they had was that the Mad King was, you know, hurting her. Also, the immersion and cohesion of the setting shouldn't be sacrificed for appeasing arrogant and eternally offended people who think their interpretation of scenes has more validity than the Word of God and that their feeble sensibilities should be coddled in warm blanket of censorship.

Another woman suffering from internalized misogyny. So sad. Tennisace and Protar will defend your soul against your wishes though.

Brienne is awesome and really should get more attention for being a kick ass female character that is never scantily clad.

I always thought it was odd how none of this rape stuff was ever brought up until the Cersi and Jamie scene. Everyone skipped over the Kal Drogo taking what he wanted scene, and I wonder if its because of how hot a lot of women found his forcefulness. (http://www.wetpaint.com/how-khal-dro...ed-fix-804975/)

It's so easy to tell on this forum who the fat people are who have never experienced any part of life besides the internet, and who the people that bring up serious issues and have experience with such problems are. If you don't know what rape culture means, or have not experienced rape yourself, you're in no place to have an opinion on the topic let alone bash the OP.

I always found that kinda lol as Drogo wasn't just a rapist he was a peadophile. Yet in the books the Jamie/Cersei encounter was consensual (just didn't come over properly on film).

Who cares about things like things like context or nuance. Fuck that, let's get offended! Much easier, doesn't hurt the brain as much as critical thought. Also, according to Protar, you're a disgusting person for not considering that scene rape. Shame. *ding* *ding* Shame!

You never wrote a story for a tv show so you're in no place to have an opinion on the topic.

I'm not a "men's rights activist" of any sort; I just find the lack of self-awareness a bit alarming. I'll be willing to accept the notion that we have some "rape culture" if you're also willing to accept the following.

We also live in a culture where women often exaggerate what rape truly is. To some women, even though they're grinding on the guy and kissing, if they regret it the next day they can claim rape because she didn't explicitly say "yes, let's have intercourse please."

We live in a culture where men are the mindless grunts who are killed over and over in movies.

We live in a culture where women on a talk show (both hosts and audience) think it's hilarious a women cut her husband's penis off : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkmanLIAdXI

Finally, we live in a culture where 3.5x more men commit suicide than women.

Acknowledge all of these, and I'll begin considering your absurd notion of a rape culture (Even though I've literally never talked to anyone who glorified rape).

Don't straw man and whine. Its unbecoming. You can speak about rape culture without having been raped.
