Within the context of the show, what happened to Sansa wasn't even rape. If people look up the laws for more than a hundred years ago or so, it was called conjugal rights. It is only in the more enlightened recent history that it became marital rape.

Even with marital rape in mind, Littlefinger gave Sansa a way out. More than one, but the last one was shortly prior to them reaching Winterfell. And she knew that marrying Ramsay meant having sex with Ramsay. She decided to go through with it anyway.

There has been less than 10 minutes of boobs and dragons in the entire 51 hours of GoT so far.

Not that I recall him spilling his secrets all that often, to prostitutes or anyone else, they already had the brothel for the scenes in season one where Ned and Catelyn met in secret. So they kept it. They used it for many other scenes too. But I guess rape culture trumps all.

The thing I find funny is that people shout till they are blue about how badly women are treated in the show (I think Brienne of Tarth is kicking some ass lol) yet you never hear them say anything about the show's female on male rape scene.

Even in that case they're wrong. Westeros isn't a-okay with rape. Even marital rape which is technically legal in Westeros is seen as a bad thing. But also, the show is not made by Westerosi. It's made by 21st century earth people for a 21st century earth audience. The director insisted that the scene became consensual. That's rape apology plain and simple and I really wish the most popular show on television wasn't setting that example.

Where you're getting from the part that marital rape is seen as bad thing in Westeros? The closest examples would be Tyrion not wanting to have sex with Sansa, which isn't really met with a lot of understanding from others, and Jaime's (I think) memories about Mad King's times when he had rough sex with his wife and one of the royal guards said something about how they're supposed to guard her to, and other replied "but not from him". And the issue they had was that the Mad King was, you know, hurting her. Also, the immersion and cohesion of the setting shouldn't be sacrificed for appeasing arrogant and eternally offended people who think their interpretation of scenes has more validity than the Word of God and that their feeble sensibilities should be coddled in warm blanket of censorship.

I always found that kinda lol as Drogo wasn't just a rapist he was a peadophile. Yet in the books the Jamie/Cersei encounter was consensual (just didn't come over properly on film).

Cersei scene wasnt rape, she was just worried that they get cought as they were in a public setting. The "I dont care" from jaimie actually had a silent (if we get cought) behind it, like "black lives matter (too)". Context is everything.

I'm not a "men's rights activist" of any sort; I just find the lack of self-awareness a bit alarming. I'll be willing to accept the notion that we have some "rape culture" if you're also willing to accept the following.

We also live in a culture where women often exaggerate what rape truly is. To some women, even though they're grinding on the guy and kissing, if they regret it the next day they can claim rape because she didn't explicitly say "yes, let's have intercourse please."

We live in a culture where men are the mindless grunts who are killed over and over in movies.
