I'm sure Cruz himself believes it was a shrewd decision in a binders full of women kind of way, I'll give you that.

You also have to keep in mind it would have to be someone who agreed to be part of a longshot. So the number of active politicians that would agree to this is likely very small, even if they'd have accepted it post-nomination.

Finding someone willing to jump on a sinking ship had to be tough.

I'm actually pretty sure he's thrilled with how this went. He went into this nearly unknown. His early polling numbers were something like 3-5%. To go from there to nearly winning the nomination is absolutely incredible. Plus he stated several times that he intended to enter to drive the conversation to a progressive agenda, which he did.

I think he saw the nomination in sight and got excited about the possibility and is now processing some disappointment at missing that goal, but I also think he's absolutely thrilled at how much success his campaign had.

There have been legislative initiatives in multiple states to prevent teenage girls from getting HPV vaccines too.

They just want to cut funding, which will not harm PP in any shape way or form.

PP earns quite a profit. They don't need government funding.

Trump currently has 953 delegates out of 1237 so he needs 284.
There are 502 left so Trump needs 56% of the remaining delegates, and he's leading in most remaining states,

To put it in perspective of the last 214 delegates 9 have gone to Kasich, 3 to Cruz and the rest to Trump.

So far Trump has pulled in 40% of the votes. He's got a lot more delegates than that because the rules favor him. But California is not winner take all, like many of the states yesterday, so he's going to have to do a shit ton better than 40% in order to get the delegates he needs there. Indiana is leaning Trump, which is good for him, since that's a large winner take all state.

But while it's looking reasonably good for Trump right now, it's hardly in the bag.
