Suramar and epic story telling over lore

Why is this important? I enjoy the lore in WoW but to section an entire zone with minimal to no reward and to expect people to complete it for the purpose of lore is disgusting. I'm playing world of warcraft, not world of lorecraft.
I level warriors, I have 48 max level warriors.

...Why not both? Awesome zone with lots of rewards and a load of epic story telling on top of it, Putress-style.

What I'm trying to say is: The game needs equilibrium. No lore is bad, but full-lore zone is... lacking. It's a shift in the oposite direction of the current game, but they went full speed on that.

Who said there's not rewards? There's artifact skins and it unlocks world quests for Suramar. Maybe some other stuff. Alpha is alpha.

This phrase is the worst thing ever. I can easily say it's world of warcraft not world of rewardcraft.

I prefer story advancing lore heavy zones.

I dont need some random new race of creature in each zone that i never really get to care about

War always brings rewards to the victor. Prove me wrong.

War also always creates lore for historians. Prove me wrong.

There is a bit of Artifact Power to be had there and when you complete the zone you get world quests unlocked there.

I do think they could bump rewards a bit more though, maybe make every quest completed there give like 5-10 AP as incentive.

Yep, but never does war only give lore.
I level warriors, I have 48 max level warriors.

it's WORLD of Warcraft, not Rewards of Warcraft.
Also, what about atmosphere, playing for fun, that's all the rage now with vanilla nostalgia fever. Surely people must love it.

I recommend you watch Preach's video on this. He did a fantastic job on what it's about and how he's optimistic about it.

Not always. Ever hear of a pyrhic victory? May have spelled that wrong.

You know that lore is essential for every good RPG?

Usually don't agree with rym, but i'm going to on this one, I'd do an entire area for the story (and probably an artifact skin)

Whether you like it or not, you're not the only one who plays this game. People like lore, like me. Sorry!

If this was "World of What DeMephisto wants" sure, but it's not!

intrinsic rewards + extrinsic rewards > intrinsic rewards only > extrinsic rewards only.

You are right, char progression should be part of every gameplay. While a great intrinsic reward just may replace a extrinsic reward.

What about barbarians that burned down cities and towns for pure sport? Logic always trumps bullshit

Rip my respect towards your topic/thread then. Feeling goes both way. Also, you're the one that started it.

Also, as for the main OP, we haven't really had an expansion where a max level zone was meant to be other than a daily hub area. Surmamar being a story zone could just be a fantastic way for players to be connected onto its area.
