Open beta is when everyone can get beta. Beta itself is pretty well defined by two criteria that are pretty much met and have been for months.

The dungeon essentially just drops you on an island with a bunch of bosses and a shitload of trash and then says "go nuts". Originally Posted by Etselion

Beta is when customers normally get to test it. There's no rule that says you can't let them in earlier, and Blizzard has let non-company people test their products before beta. (F&F Alpha) Originally Posted by schwarzkopf
