Would you break the law and steal if it meant providing food for your family?
Plot twist: What if the people you are considering stealing from are also a needy family who had to steal themselves to get the food to survive?

If it was the only possible way, yes. If I had the opportunity to provide in other ways, no.
If every other option has failed and starvation was a very real threat, yes.
My family comes first to me so yes I would steal to provide for them.
Who wouldn't?
Most people "steal" by not removing media and games from inventory, so just for pure convenience. For survival? Without batting a lash.
For my family, yes.
Of course. I'd make sure w/e I stole came from people who wouldn't miss it.

If the life of my family depended on it and I saw absolutely no other way, I guess I would do it (not from a needy family though)... But in reality, there are so many other, legal, ways to get food, that I cannot imagine a situation in which it would be necessary to steal.
Yes but only from big companies (chains) and not from small stores.
No, I'll just lay down on the ground and die from starvation. Makes perfect sense.

I think stealing, when it is a matter of life and death, is like killing in self-defense: while normally killing is a murder, the situation in which your life is threatened and the only way to save yourself is to kill the aggressor is considered exception. In this regard, the conclusion of the court from a thread nearby - http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...reposterous!!! - makes a lot of sense and is even required for consistency.
