You're right. The HS basketball thing isn't in the same realm. It's worse.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

    Why?
    - He hasn't gone on detail in one of his policies (except for the wall; he LOVES that wall)
    - He has changed position and hasn't stayed consistent (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...s-on-abortion/ Just on abortion he took 5 different positions)
    - He plans to reduce taxes on companies following the dangerous trickle down economic policy
Too many companies – from great American brands to innovative startups – are leaving America, either directly or through corporate inversions. The Democrats want to outlaw inversions, but that will never work. Companies leaving is not the disease, it is the symptom. Politicians in Washington have let America fall from the best corporate tax rate in the industrialized world in the 1980’s (thanks to Ronald Reagan) to the worst rate in the industrialized world. That is unacceptable. Under the Trump plan, America will compete with the world and win by cutting the corporate tax rate to 15%, taking our rate from one of the worst to one of the best.
That was taken from his official page, so yeah it dangerously resembles trickle down policies and the very controversial reaganomics. Which have failed in many states of the US
    - He somehow plans to deport millions of people, how he plans to do it without the use violence of violating human rights is beyond me, but he did not explain how.
    - He plans to engage in a trade war against two of the biggest trade partners the US has, and hasn't stablished how he manages to convince them besides we are american and we can do everything.
I could go on, but you get the idea, most of his policies are too radical and have little to no explanation on how he plans to achieve it, in addition to his little to no experience in the political world. So yeah at least with Cruz, Sanders and Hillary they have experience and have firm positions. Trump's only firm positions include wall, china and repel obamacare with a plan he once again provide little detail of.

Probably because everytime you reduce taxes the economy gets better?

Can you blame them? I'd give Trump supporters the finger, just because Trump is nuts. And that's why I'm voting for him. Cause Trump... is going to fuck shit up. Once he's done causing WW3, the world can finally move forward in the proper direction. And we will realize that someone like Trump should never be in charge of a country.

Hey, at least you admit there's a problem. I guess common-sense says try solving the problem instead of doing nothing. :-/

because making it bigger is really going to make any difference when they've already figured out a way past it.

Oh trust me, the one talking point he has that is the most insane and idiotic thing is this wall. So then, if we both agree there's a problem (no-one can really refute that there's a problem when they are tunneling under the current fence, in other words the fence is partially effective) what's your proposed solution?

Well, I didn't think law abiding mexicans would tunnel under a fence or cross the border illegally. I thought it was mainly a drug thing, but let's go with it simply being mexicans striving for a better life. How do you know which ones are law abiding and which ones aren't? Frankly, and I know I know I'm a little dense, any of them who did illegally cross the border are already criminals.

Since he signed an amnesty bill himself he'd probably agree with it.

I'd say he's be OK with with it since he is one of the few US Presidents that actually granted amnesty to immigrant workers. The Republican party is pretty far away from where it was when Ronald Regan was president on a great deal of issues. That fact is really odd since most current Republican politicians point to Reagan as political inspiration.

He's considered one in some circles, sure. Back then the grassroots didn't really have any idea of what kind of effect it'd have and as he was popular with them he didn't face a ton of backlash. Some but not enough to worry about.

This back and forth on his legacy and the ultimate definition of Republicans are is why I think the party has become the starting ground not the end destination for people on the right, especially since the 2nd Bush Presidency. There's so much divergence that it cannot ever hope for its' Big Tent strategy to work.

Well that ultimately depends on the individual so pretty hard to say. You've got the already established paleoconservatives and the whole alt right thing, you've got rightwing libertarianism and anarchism. You're seeing some small right wing groups that are actually apolitical and function as a insular social network that don't want to be plugged in at all, basing themselves on moral or spiritual views and codes instead of political ones. There's single issue right wing groups that'd literally vanish tomorrow if their target issue was solved.

I'm leaving out the fascist types, neocons and police staters because frankly both parties have them and they're more a part of the establishment than any divergence away from it.
