If you use old cata gear and gem it with epic gems from cata content and stack your main stat not only do you get the item level scaling but you also get the full stats of the gems. I've seen people pretty much solo bosses and do the combined dps of the tank and other two dpsers plus some.
I've never had issues in Timewalking (running on my resto shaman). I mean I guess it helps that I did all that when it was current (I started in vanilla but didn't hit 60 until after BC launched, so BC was my first "endgame"). But it's not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be.
I've only had issues healing DK tanks. No one died but it was significantly more difficult. That said my guild's DK tank didn't even need a healer.

check the combat log, I'm almost a full bis geared blood dk in tw. only thing I'm missing is a trinket, and these mobs melee me for 50% of my health. fucking ridiculous.
I agree Shattered Halls Heroic was the hardest of the instances until Magister's Terrace Heroic came out. Once people acquired raid or pvp gear, all of the heroic dungeons became much easier. But trying to run one of the heroic dungeons with only quest gear was quite painful.

As someone who tanks now and tanked back in the old days, I sort of agree on this. The bosses are much, much easier than they were originally (granted I'm probably using Shadowmourne on my DK tank). I have more issues with the adds -- I don't know if that's the healer taking it easy on add pulls, or what, but the add fights are usually the only fights that can cause my DK tank to go down; so I save my cool downs for the adds. And yes, I know all about the spell-flinger and the other painful adds.
Now having said all that, I still find TW heroics much easier than the original heroics whether we are talking pre-nerf BC, wrath, or cata heroics.

DPS is supposed to focus fire the assassins. You should never get hit four times in a row like that.
We just started the dungeon, nothing was pulled yet and everyone was ready for the last 20-30 sec, they just stood their doing nothing! No excuse, plebz is and will most likely always be plebz!

Entered the dungeons, buffed up, eated up, everyone was fully buffed, well fed etc etc and been standing totally still for the last 20sec and chatting random shit! Like i want to spend 1hour in a TW dungeon because they want to chat the whole damn dungeon and be afk 90% of the time chatting! no way!
A few chat is all cool. Socialising is great. But, atleast to could start moving abit!
Cant even remember if we had MD back in TBC! :P
If it's a DK and they prebuffed bone shield on entering they need to rebuff it the moment they entered, and if you're worried about survival 20% constant DR is massive. It's a 1min cd so they'd likely wait for that. If they are using any specific trinkets they may wait, too.
could you just imagine the shit storm if the timewalking dungeons for cata were the pre-nerf ones? wtf is cc? oh hex? hex is a cc?
you won't really have any better luck as a dps. yeah, it will be a little less stressful for you, but then you'll get an idiot tank saying the group wiped because you weren't doing as much dps as him when they seem to forget they have resolve and the fact that they will do high dps if they live for 2 -3 sec only when they pull the entire room forcing the rest of the group to run/die
I disagree, I've pugged alot of timewalking dungeons and ive never had any issues.
Yeah pretend everyone going into TW is ultra pro tank and pull ahead of them.
Let's get some facts straight - TW's hurt. A DK tank can easily take 40% of their hp per hit on the harder hitting trash (individual mobs) without mitigation. This is a general point with DK where when you pull before you have your general absorbs / trinkets / etc. rolling and know the healer is ready where you want to use a death strike / rune tap as soon as possible to smooth the damage before you start going 'normally'. Bone shield helps with this.
Does every tank need this? Certainly not, between gear and experience they'll be fine with a hunter ninjapulling - but you have no idea what sort of tank & healer you have when you've just joined the dungeon. If you want them to pull just TELL THEM instead of risking wipes Md'ing onto an inexperienced / badly geared tank simply making sure the run goes smoothly at expense of time.
Had a dps start pulling for me tonight in BC TW. At first thought maybe it was an accident; he was moving to far side of trash so maybe he was proximity pulling the next group. I felt like I was pulling at a fair clip, not ultra fast because my health was dipping. Not sure if the healer was struggling or just not used to healing tank (since tanks don't need healing in WoD heroics anymore), but I was using CDs on many of the trash pulls. No biggie, but a good indicator that I didn't want to get too crazy with it. Then this same dps starts pulling bosses for me too...
I finished the run, but put him on ignore afterwards. Did both of us a favor that way. He obviously doesn't appreciate my tanking, and I don't appreciate his. Next time we're in the queue at the same time, we can both wait for others to group with.
